Ikudon — Restaurant in Tokyo

When I picture a classic, Japanese Niku shop, Ikudon comes to mind. From the outside, Ikudon looks like a house straight out of the Edo era, with its decorative metal roof. There are a few chairs outside and a smoking pit, and menus showing off the latest deals.

You pass through the doors and see the charcoal grills, smell of cooking meat in the air, large beers, and workers yelling. Been to more of a handful of yakiniku places and this place is top 3 in Machida. There's a large variety of meats available at fair prices, and the service and friendliness is high tier. If you're a foreigner, you might be using google translate for some of the menu items, but the menus aren't handwritten, so it's not a problem.

改変4月17日 ついに待った改装が終了したと店員さんから聞きまして、オープン二日目にて来訪。 11時前とあって、まだまだ空いています。 店内に入ってしばらく待っていると、ようやく男の店員さんが何名様ですか？と聞かれ一人というと用意しますのでお待ちくださいと。 待たされること三分。ようやく案内されました。 カウンター席沢山空いているから、座らせてくれれば良いのに、対応が遅い😢 席に座ること、待つこと待つこと注文を聞かれずに、後から入ってきた客が焼き始めている… 慣れてないの？チラチラこっち見ているのに、注文とりましたか？も聞かない。 網も出されずに座っているのおかしいでしょ！ こういう場合、こちらから声をかけた方が良いのかもしれませんが、10分間放置プレーされたので、無言の退出 改装前の姉御とかいなかったし、店内はキレイでも店員さんの質はガタ落ちかな… しばらくしたら、また様子見で行きたいと思いますが、今のところ行く気はなくなりました。 味は美味しく、コスパ良いのに残念⤵️
