It's just not there. And those who know me know that I hardly leave negative reviews especially when, as a guest of the Mandarin Oriental, they suggested I try this place. The products are good, nothing to say , but they are of a 'dislike rare and I wonder if it is because I am a tourist. In the case it would be serious.
The first time, she rude, because I went to ask for a Matcha latte and a cake and while I was looking for money in my wallet, I didn't understand two things she said: because in short I mean she is Japanese and I am Italian; annoyed by my misunderstanding she rolled her eyes because I wasn't understanding. I mean speak up and be quiet, that I understand you then.
Since the matcha is good the night before I left, I wanted to get a chocolate bar to buy and then have an ice cream; it was 7:50 p.m. there was a guy inside who was paying and I was in line-because there's a small line to go outside-so while I was in line the guy who works there, he didn't even look me in the eye and turned the "Closed" sign in front of my face; except that it closes at 8 p.m. and not 7:50 p.m. I mean I wanted a Matcha latte but having said that he also look me in the eye- by the way I'm telling the truth- it's a place that's under the Mandarin Oriental and there are only Japanese; I haven't seen a foreigner in 5 days, strange because foreigners love Matcha so I'm asking questions and with that...

Read moreI love that you can choose your matcha intensity e.g. single, double, or triple for the matcha drinks. I tried both the double and triple matcha lattes to compare. The double already had a strong, rich matcha flavor, so I’d say that’s the sweet spot. The triple was slightly too powdery for my taste.
The latte matcha itself was bold and pleasantly bitter, especially since it’s served without sugar.
One also have the option to choose the matcha drinks with or without sugar. 👍
But the real star? The matcha cheesecake! It had a deep, rich matcha flavor with a creamy, refreshing texture, not too sweet, just right. If you don’t try the matcha cheesecake, you’re definitely missing out.
