We stayed at Hotel SUI for 7 nights and we were really happy with our decision. The location of the hotel is really close to Kanda Station (takes around 4-5 minutes at most) and the station is connected to the two most central railway lines so it's the perfect place for people who want access to the Yamanote line but prefer a more quiet area to spend the night. We were out all day so we were not able to try them, but they have free sake/umeshu between 5pm-7pm and udon between 8pm-10pm.
Pros: -Super close to the Kanda Station. -The area around the hotel is perfect, easy to find Torikizoku or more authentic izakayas if you want to continue the night bar hopping, but the area is quiet enough for people who don't want to deal with noise at night. -The receptionists are always friendly and can speak English well. -They are also super helpful with stuff. We left our luggage with them while traveling to Kyoto and got our luggage on our second check-in to the place. -The rooms have built-in plug converters so even if you forget to bring a converter you'll be able to charge your phone at night. They also sell adapter chargers (though it's probably much better price-wise to buy one from Bic camera). -24/7 free coffee at the lobby. And it was actually good for a machine coffee.
Cons: -Some rooms have problems. In the first room we stayed in, the toilet had a smell issue. But they were sympathetic after we told this about them and took notes, so that was really nice. (Just a note, we told about the issue after our check-out, so it was not like they could offer something.) -The rooms are not APA-level small but they're still small for two people with two luggages. Still it is not something unmanageable. -The bed is super hard (I say this as someone who prefers stiff beds) and the pillows are really uncomfortable. It would be really great if they chose softer beds and pillows that can hold their shape a bit since these ones just feel like there are no pillows at all. The beds for the normal double room are also on the smaller side, it would be impossible for two slightly overweight people to sleep comfortably in a double room. So I'd suggest people to consider larger rooms with larger beds if they want more comfort.
Overall the cons were things that we could easily overlook after coming to hotel exhausted from all the walking. We would definitely consider staying here again if we come...
Read moreAs a Japanese citizen living in the Tokyo Bay Area, I unexpectedly found myself needing accommodation in central Tokyo for a business-related reason. By chance, I discovered this hidden gem of a hotel, and I'm thrilled to share my experience with fellow travelers. This hotel boasts an excellent location in the heart of Tokyo, offering clean, comfortable rooms and outstanding customer service at a reasonable price point. It's an ideal choice for both business travelers and tourists looking to maximize their Tokyo experience without breaking the bank. Conveniently situated just one stop away from Tokyo Station, the hotel is a short walk from Kanda Station. Its prime location also puts you within easy reach of the vibrant Nihonbashi Muromachi area, one of Tokyo's premier districts for shopping and dining. As a local, I was impressed by how easily I could access various parts of the city from this central hub. For added convenience, Mitsukoshi-Mae station on the Metro Ginza Line is nearby, providing direct access to popular destinations like Asakusa and Shibuya. This central location allows you to effortlessly explore Tokyo's diverse neighborhoods and attractions, something I found particularly useful during my stay. Even as someone familiar with Tokyo, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's balance of accessibility, comfort, and value. It truly serves as an excellent base for any Tokyo adventure, whether you're a visitor or a local in need of a comfortable stay in the city center. My unexpected stay turned into a delightful discovery, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tokyo or locals looking for a convenient city accommodation. Read moreA small hotel near Kanda station. Very good: The location. Quite despite being just a few minutes from a central train station. The staff is very nice. There are two washing machines. They have a nice tradition of serving free takoyaki every evening, making it a fun gathering occasion for the guests Good: The room prices are reasonable for such a central location. The bed was really hard, which I fortunately like. But for those who don't be prepared for a tough night. The room was very quiet and calm. Problematic: The rooms are very small. This can be expected considering price and location. But the room solutions are tricky. I stayed for 27 nights and had a large luggage. It required some acuserobatics to be able to use the room. There was no room for a bedside table to keep water, book, glashses and phone. The few drawers and the refrigerator were under the bed towards a wall which made them quite difficult to reach and use. There was only one hook to hang clothes on. This forced me to live out of the suitcase. Not good for long stay. Bad: The safe never worked. The staff tried to fix it once but with no result. Anyways, it was so badly positioned under the bed that I could hardly open it anyway. It was formally listed as two person room, but in that case the persons have to be very, very small and without luggage. The lobby was very small and had worked fine if not for the guests luggage that for the most time blocked a big part of it. Conclusion: A well situated hotel with nice staff. Reasonably priced with calm and quiet rooms. Rooms cramped, making a longer stay very difficult. Be a water of hard beds. I still recommend the hotel for a short stay for those who carry...
