had the privilege of dining at Kabuki Sushi for their omakase experience, and it was without doubt one of the finest sushi meals I’ve ever had. From the very first bite, everything was fresh, delicate, and beautifully presented.
Each piece of sushi felt like a masterpiece—crafted with precision and balance. The fish was incredibly fresh, melting in the mouth with clean and vibrant flavours. The rice was seasoned perfectly, warm and tender, holding together just enough to complement the fish without overpowering it.
What really stood out was the progression of the omakase. The chef guided us on a journey, starting with lighter, more subtle flavours and gradually building to richer, more complex bites. Every dish had its own unique character—from buttery toro to perfectly charred aburi, and even surprising seasonal creations that highlighted the best of Japanese ingredients.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere was intimate and refined. The chefs prepared everything right in front of us, explaining each piece with passion and detail, which made the whole experience feel personal and special. The service was warm, attentive, and respectful—making us feel both comfortable and valued throughout the evening.
Kabuki Sushi is not just a meal—it’s an unforgettable culinary experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Japan who wants to enjoy sushi at...
Read moreAs an American tourist who speaks limited Japanese and is a first time visitor for Japan, I was stressed out trying to find a legitimate Japanese sushi experience that wasn’t a “tourist trap” or gonna give me food poisoning, or break my bank account. I wanted to try all sorts of daring and new types of sushi.
Every single sushi place I looked at was either, way too expensive, difficult to navigate for a reservation, or the reviews said that it was a tourist trap or something else awful. Eventually, I decided to ignore the reviews and give Kabuki sushi a try.
Not only were they accommodating for a same day reservation for four, they were allowing walk-ins as well. There was a fair share of tourists but also some locals as well. They had an employee who was good with English which made communicating very easy.
I will warn that if you have a weak stomach, I’d refrain from doing the 10 piece Omakase. They serve raw sea urchin, salmon roe, and baby squid. I personally enjoyed the new experiences and tastes. Some were scared to try it but I personally loved it and survived it. No food poisoning! The restaurant was clean! And it was all a decent price. If you’re worried about where to go, listen to this review and give Kabuki...
Read moreAfter looking for some restaurants in the area, we opted to give this place a try.
The atmosphere and overall look are very welcoming and are very nicely designed. Hats off to whoever designed the restaurant!
The food was good tasting but overpriced for what is being offered. It is not uncommon to pay extra for a premium meal or experience, but this was lacking to justify the cost.
The biggest issue was the time it took to receive our meal. We went for a simple meal that consisted of a set of 8 Nigiri plus 4 additional items. It ended up taking over 80 minutes before the final piece was served (and the final piece was a piece of omelette, not a nigiri). For the food taking so long to arrive, it made it harder to properly enjoy and experience everything. Particularly because other customers who arrived after us were being served faster.
Another thing of note was that the miso included in the set was delivered at the very end, rather than the beginning, and the appetiser included in the meal never came.
Overall, it's a decent location, but for the price and offerings, one could go elsewhere for a...
