I tried Menshou Taketora in my last night in Japan. I arrived with my friend and we had to wait for 3-5 min for the stuff to find us a seat. Even if they had two spots in the bar, they eventually guided us to private room with nice airconditioning, coat hangers, gave us an english menu and told us to ring the bell when we are ready to order. Private room was just perfect for us since my friend doesnt eat ramen cause she doesnt want to get messy in front of other people :) We ordered tonkotsu ramen, one with yuzu and one normal. The broth was thick and rich in flavors and in quantities (i got the large). We also ordered the shrimps in garlic, garlic gyozas, and shrimp wantons. Everything was very nice and very decently prized. In general terms i liked the food, service and atmosphere (jazz music felt loud but not after they closed the doors of our private room) and i could recommend it if you re in the...
Read moreI can’t comment on the food because I walked out before someone took my order.

Instead, I sat and waited and a couple walked in and were instantly greeted and shown to a seat at the table? I really do not understand this at all. Shortly after, one of the waiter caught my eye and I think he could tell I was a little disappointed so he showed me to a seat.
After being seated, the same thing happens again. I wait for another 10mins but nobody takes my order. In this time, the couple now sat next to me have been seen to and their order has been taken?
After waiting patiently at the table for 10mins, I decide to walk...
Read moreWe ate here three times. It is behind our hotel in an inconspicuous place. Turned out to be a great choice. They open from 11am to 9am so that is about as late night as you can get. We had all of the different types of ramen that they make. The salad and gyoza were good too. The prices are very reasonable and the food tastes great. I had the shoyu ramen every time. The staff is friendly and helpful and we got a private room every time we went there. It had its own sliding door for the privacy. People do smoke there but it was tolerable when you closed the sliding doors. We had to wait in line a couple of times but it...
