Shogun Burger Shinjuku — Restaurant in Tokyo

I went there with my wife and a friend. First, we had to wait in line for at least 20 minutes, as the place is smaller than I thought when seeing the pictures on Google Maps. There is no space for the people who wait, so we had to stand next to a very smelly toilet, which already made our visit somewhat uncomfortable. The good thing was that we could use soft drinks bar while we waited - that's great, especially on a hot day. We ordered a half burger for my friend, a double cheeseburger for my wife and a spicy burger plus a chocolate shake for me. After we got out seats at the counter, we still had to wait for another 15 minutes to get the food. There was no space to put our bags, so we had to keep them on our laps while sitting on tall bar stools, which was pretty uncomfortable. But the main thing was the food: the burgers looked nice, the extra fries were good and crispy, but there was a problem with the burger meat - it contained hard chunks that you could not bite through and you had to spit out! This problem appeared in all three burgers, so it wasn't just a random mishap - the meat was not properly cleared of all the tendons before mincing. I have never experienced something like this in any of the burgers I have eaten in my entire life! This grossed us out pretty bad. When it comes to the taste - my burger was pretty good and comfortably spicy, but my wife's cheeseburger was bland and you could barely taste the cheese. She ended up adding ketchup to the burger to taste anything. The milkshake was tasty. Overall, I cannot recommend this place. I know I will not go there again, and I would definitely not invite my friends there either. Better spend your money somewhere else - for this amount you could have a real feast at Mos Burger or Freshness Burger, and you would be...

Not impressed at all.

We ordered two meals consisting of burger, fries and drink. The machine showed Redbull which is what I wanted, but after placing the order, I was directed to an on tap machine with no Redbull in sight. I opted for cola, but all that came out of the cola tap was fizzy water. We heard our order number called in Japanese, so we raised our hands, but the server walked straight past us to another couple in the back! They excitedly took the order. We stopped the server and showed our ticket with the number he'd just called and he just stared at the number blankly, then at me blankly, then said 'Everything ok?' and walked off! We assumed we'd misheard our number. We then saw the couple's faces turn from excited to confused as they manhandled one of the burgers and realized it wasn't theirs. They called the server over and said 'I think this is their order' pointing at us 'but we've already touched one of the burgers' He grabbed the meals and placed them in front of us. I repeated what the lady had said about touching our food (in this day and age, it's even more of a concern) and the server just stared at me as if he had no idea what the problem was, said sorry and walked off. We ate the untouched meal and it was mediocre for the high price. Even more of a rip off, as we could only eat the one that didn't have handprints on it from the other customers. It was also missing the side sauce and beer. We did get the beer after asking. Poor service, no concern for hygiene, overpriced. This was our 12th trip to Japan and honestly the first time we've actually experienced bad service and lack of hygiene...
