Cliffs Amazing meal, delicious and healthy great folks at this establishment
My wife and I came here since it was close to our hotel and because I wanted to try Chanko nabe before leaving Japan.
The first night, we arrived 30-40 mintues before they were about to close so we just ate quickly as we did not want to inconvenience them.
However, we made reservations for the next night as our last meal before flying back home.
Needless to say it did not disappoint. We had a delicious, filling, and nutritious meal with plenty of high balls to wash it down. This chanko nabe utilizes pork belly, chicken thighs, and an assortment of vegetables. The broth is light, but you get a sauce on the side to season your bowl. It had hints of umami and salt and from what I could tell it utilizes negi and miso. It was very delicious.
In addition to the food we spent around 2 hrs talking to Mr. Kainowaka Naoya (ex sumo wrestler) and briefly to the chef as well. We discussed many things over the past 2 hours, but one of the topics we talked about was our training experiences, him with sumo, and mine with grappling. Needless to say this was one of the best and most memorable dining experiences we had in Japan.
My wife and I hope to come back in the future after I learn nihongo so we will not have to communicate via phone with Mr. Kainowaka Naoya.
P.S. Since coming back home I've been making Chanko Nabe with my version of yudofu sauce :)

The nabe was delicious and healthy, and you could flavor the broth to your liking. A very fun experience, and I...
