Came here on a Tuesday at 2:30pm and my party of 2 was seated immediately. We ordered a Matcha Bavarian Cream and the Ujicha? Matcha? shaved ice (no red beans). The Matcha Bavarian Cream was incredibly well balanced. The matcha pudding was very bitter, but when eaten together with the sweet red bean paste and thick whipped cream, the bitterness goes unnoticed and the strong matcha flavor is brought out. The shaved ice was also very delicious for how simple it was, just green tea syrup and some shirotama (rice dumplings). The syrup was not too sweet or too bitter, and there was a good balance of syrup to ice. It was also very refreshing on a hot day after having walked in the sun for so long. *goori azuki(shaved ice w/ red bean paste) As far as I'm concerned, as red bean paste here is just a pure delight, it is better to eat goori azuki than uji kintoki here. Red bean paste is invariably decent!
