Stellar and amazing food and service. Had lunch today and it did all to impress. The restaurant is small as. Like a lovely French bistro in France. I enjoyed all my courses and we added a carafe of wine and bottled sparkling and still. Water here is a little expensive however for a restaurant average. We started with the white asparagus and the house deli platter. Both were delicious. The soup was an onion soup with crunchy croutons that were so delicious! A simple dish with a modern twist that worked well with the veal stock whirled into it for presentation and flavor. We upcharges for the lobster and ravioli and then ordered the duck. The dishes were magnificent and the presentation was unique. I never knew I was missing fish mousse ravioli until today! The dish was served with lobster tail which was very good. The duck was a perfect medium rare and the reinforced carrots and polenta were a wonderful compliment to the melt in your mouth texture and taste of the duck. The house cheese with herbs and garlic was an all around soft cheese which works for all even those who don’t love cheese. My husband did an add on of two cheeses so he could try the blue. He loved it for its taste and creaminess. Next we had dessert. We tried the house special dessert which was hot chocolate mousse and pistachio ice cream. Then the dessert which had meringue and fruit. All items were pleasing visually and taste. We so enjoyed our lunch and we didn’t hold back ordering exactly what we wanted to try. This was the perfect meal and we will bring friends here for sure. All dishes were worth the price except maybe the asparagus appetizer which was ¥2100 extra. Lobster was ¥3500 upcharge...

The restaurant has one Michelin star ⭐️ and a bit different addition to French typical restaurants in Tokyo by introducing Lyonnaise cuisine.
During the week, they offer very affordable lunch sets starting from 3000 yen. During the weekend, lunch course starts from 5300 yen. Like many Michelin guide restaurants, you can only order course.
We made a reservation 2 weeks before for a weekend lunch course. Menu offers several options for each dish, and states with a lion sign the ones typical to Lyon.
Food was offered with fresh baguette. You need to pay for water (like in Europe), which might annoy some Japanese people. Wine was very good.
Service is quite attentive and nice. However, service is not the center point of the Michelin guide restaurants, which I read and hear that bothers many people in Japan, this won’t be an exception. If you are a European, I don’t think you will notice anything. This warning is mostly for Japanese people and sensitive foreigners.
That being said, most of the customers were Japanese people. Some of them were elderly, and seem to enjoy themselves a lot. They looked very fancy, just like the rest of the decorum.
To me, honestly all dishes were great. I can say it though, Quenelle is not everybody’s cup of tea. You will love it, if you like sea food a lot. Either way, it is very nice to try something different from France.
For an additional fee you can enjoy a cheese board. Course included too much food for us. Thus, we could not order cheese.
I recommend this place to, well again to anyone, who wants to enjoy a great French food in a...
Read moreSo I chose to have a leisurely lunch at a Michelin star French bistrot on my last day in Tokyo. It's not so much the star that attracted me but rather, it's a Lyonnais restaurant in a Tokyo neighbourhood...
It has been 25 years now so it seems ages ago when I travelled far away from home for the first time, and lived in France for a month, the bulk of that in Lyon. Thus, France, especially Lyon. always has a special place in my heart.
Starter was the appetiser of the day - foie gras with Japanese edamame and romaine lettuce. Once I bit into it, wow, a burst of flavours exploded inside the mouth. The tenderness of the foie gras and the sweetness of meat and edamame combined so well. 噛むと、色々なフレーバーが口の中に出ます。旨い!! Finally, a taste of Michelin...
Second dish, I ordered the traditional Lyon blood sausage with apple Tatin style. It was good too, with the flavours of meat again mixed with the sweetness of apples. However, perhaps I had too much intestinal style meat for this meal and when I was done, I wished I had ordered fish or quenelles instead... maybe next time then!!
Finally, something sweet to end the afternoon. Traditionelle tarte aux pralines rose et son neuf à la neige. 美しい。With an emblem of Lyon as well. Michelin worthy dessert.
A taste of Lyon in Tokyo. How nice to be in two of my favourite places at the same...
