This restaurant is very popular on liitle redbook in our country. We had already made a reservation at the main store, but upon arrival, we were told we had to dine at a smaller store. The store was cramped, and the service was quite mediocre—they didn’t even offer us water proactively. When we requested to sit at the counter, all four of us, the staff insisted that we had to fill up the other seats first, even though other customers were seated freely. It felt like the staff was forcing us Chinese customers to follow their seating arrangements. Later, after we had already paid, we tried to discuss changing the payment method with the staff. However, the server didn’t understand a word of English and kept shushing us, telling us to be quiet. It was only when the chef explained that the payment couldn’t be refunded that we finally understood. The chef was polite, but the server’s attitude and the quality of service were really...

We had the pleasure of enjoying an omakase session at Sushi Matsue during our trip to Japan, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable highlights of our journey.

From the very beginning until the final course, we were personally attended to by Chef Shinichi Tokuyama. His attention to detail was remarkable as each dish was served with impeccable timing, and every piece of sushi was crafted with precision, balance, and elegance.

What made the experience even more special was not just the flavors, but the opportunity to witness the chef’s artistry up close. The way he carved and prepared each piece reflected both skill and passion, elevating the entire dining experience into something truly...

We got the omakase for dinner and was completely shocked at the low quality of fish and seafood for the 15,000 yen per person price. The uni (sea urchin) I was able to tell has gone bad, it was almost grey, had a very pale yellow colour, and the texture was watery. I had one small bite and was not able to finish the piece. As for the other pieces, they were mostly cheap cuts which was unacceptable for the price. Please avoid this trap...

Went there for omakase lunch and it was not worth the price: 1) the taste of wasabi was overpowering (it’s not my first time having omakase / sushi); 2) the sashimi they used did not taste very fresh; 3) the whole omakase course felt very rushed - the chef served the next piece without waiting for us to finish our existing piece. Overall service quality can be improved
