Best Hidden Ramen Spot in Tokyo I’ve been coming to Toride Ramen Restaurant for 20 years, since I was a child, and I can confidently say that the taste gets more delicious year by year. Despite its incredible quality, it’s surprising that this place isn't booming among foreign tourists. The owner, who worked for the famous Ippudo before opening this shop, remains the same friendly face I remember from my childhood. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, located away from the center of Shibuya, but this is exactly why it remains a hidden gem among Tokyo’s ramen spots. Many Japanese people tend to rate places three stars even if they think the food is delicious, which might explain the lack of rave reviews. Toride serves typical tonkotsu ramen that stands out in its depth of flavor. The owner is very friendly, though his English might be a bit slow. When you visit, make sure to enjoy the ramen with seaweed, egg toppings. Also, don’t miss the dumplings (gyoza) and, if you’re hungry enough, order the onigiri rice bowl with mentaiko mayo sauce dip. I assure you, this is the best ramen restaurant in Tokyo, possibly in Japan, or even the world. Go there, taste it, and write your honest review. I’m sure you’ll agree!

We have been patronising this store everytime we go to Tokyo for the last 15 years. The food is always consistently good, served with a smile, and you can tell there’s a lot of heart and effort put into the food. Noodles were thin and springy, broth flavourful, and the meat tender! Gyoza’s are cute little burst of flavour with appetising lime chill on the side. See you next time in Tokyo!

The ramen was pretty good, but not outstanding to my taste. The noodles and egg were very good. There was nothing particularly bad about it, but I didn’t love the broth, and I think the meat could be more tasty and tender. The place did smell a little bit too, but otherwise seemed clean. Cool old school vibe inside.

Decent ramen restaurant. Looked like it is a tourist friendly place as menu and seasoning name are written in english. Interior and vibe is decent. Ramen itself is pretty average. You can choose the thickness and and hardness of the noodle. Broth was normal. Payment: You can only pay by cash or Pay pay&R pay.

Chashu was excellent, I liked the noodles as well. Lots of different toptions available (toppings, amount of meat, noodle style, etc.) There was an English menu as well, not super detailed but definitely enough to know what you're ordering. Beer, soft drinks are available as well.

Could be my fav pork broth lamen place in Tokyo! Bite-sized Gyoza was flavorful too. The broth is rich but clean compare with those franchise pork broth lamen places - you can feel the differences between pre-packed chilled soup vs home made one like this. Definetly recommended!
