We went for Christmas Eve's. We took the Kobe Menu for something around 26 000 yen per person. It was our honeymoon. The meat was good. First time trying real Kobe beef.
But the service was atrocious. Worst service my husband and I ever had in a restaurant. We arrived on time. The waitress showed us our place from far away. Not a single indication, our jackets weren't taken. As we didn't see the locker, one of the chefs mentioned something about it later but didn't bother trying to articulate in English nor Japanese. We saw that way later.
Anyway, we were here for the view and the meat. But for this kind of price we were expecting at least a decent service. 1 waitress for 2 rooms. Had to wait 10min for 2 glasses of water (we were already done eating). She was too busy. You need more people doing the service on Christmas. Therefore the table's service was horrible. We didn't have enough space and had to clean our plate to make some space for the next plate. At first we were still trying to find room on our table and the chef didn't wait for us to clean and push the plate onto each other.
Also, when we tried to order a drink I wasn't even able to say my order that the chef already took the menu from my husband's hand. And took mine almost ripping it apart. Not even looking at me and acting rude.
What kind of restaurants do this kind of 'service' and charge that amount ?!
Without being way too dramatic but no effort was done trying to explain the meal, being at least decent and kind. Pretty sure because we were foreigners. As the evening went by, we saw that the service was a bit better towards Japanese customers. But still a shame for all of their customers. Chef are here to cook but barely does it and does not do more (which he should do with this kind of setup). And the only waitress cannot be everywhere to provide any decent service.
I would have been 'ok' (kinda) for this kind of behaviour from a small weird restaurant for a few hundred yen per person. But you do show off like a big stylish restaurant, at least try to act like one.
And the dessert, I almost forgot about it. One small piece of melon and one scoop of ice cream. Wasn't good at all. Like it was eatable, but really how it can be served in a almost 250€ menu ?! We have done a few gourmet restaurants for way cheaper and it was 10 times better. Even if you pay for the Kobe beef for the most part, the rest look like a cheap restaurant you can find anywhere. Quick mention to the small salad they serve as a starter. It had one small piece of tomato, so there is that I guess.
We are still not sure if we were pranked last night. I'm still waiting for a 'gotcha' moment. But it really feels like it.
We cannot recommend this place to anyone. We never do bad reviews. But even if the meat was good, the full experience was truly awful. If you want to try real Kobe beef, please go...

I usually dun post negative reviews but I have to for this time.
First thing first, when we booked in advance for 13pax, we are told to ordered the food before hand and there will be cancellation charge which is fine for us.
When we reached restaurant, we are greeted by not so friendly service staff. Their service was below par. 1It’s like quite impatient with us as if we are disturbing their peace. Baby chair was within reach but wasn’t offered to us. 🤦♂️
As for the beef, take a look at what is advertised compared to ours. The cooking method, I ordered medium rare, take a look at my 3rd photo, does it look like medium rare? It is cooked to medium well which some of us ordered. Chef was doing mass cooking. Quite serious miscommunication for a prized beef cooking doneness. Garlic was overcooked too.
Dessert wise the melon was meh too. Not sweet. Could have been better.
Lastly, quite hazardous for people trying to take photo. Refer to picture 4 and 5, my fren fell down while taking a photo. No sign of caution.
Overall quite disappointed in this Tokyo branch. When we first had our virgin experience in Kobe, their service level and the beef and cooking method was way above our expectations. That’s why we come back to experience it again but it turn out to be disastrous. After this round, I think I will stick back to Kobe branch.
I think this restaurant seriously needs to buck up in terms of everything, totally not justifiably for the price we paid at 36000...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and stay away from this restaurant. I should have listened to the reviews. This place is a depressing and overpriced tourist trap. It only has one large teppanyaki table where tourists are seated for a rushed meal. As soon as we were seated, I knew we were in for a ride. There was not a single local customer. The “view” couldn’t really be appreciated through two partially obstructed windows. The waitress and chefs were uninterested in providing friendly or welcoming service. As soon as we sat down, we were handed an old plastic-covered menu opened to the most expensive Kobe beef option, clearly trying to steer the customer to the 26,000 yen option. The steaks are all under 6 oz. We were then told in a very matter of fact manner that a 10% “service charge” would be added to the bill. So much for no tipping in Japan! When the waygu steaks came out I was instructed to take a picture of the meat— another sign of a tourist trap. The beef was just ok— at best. The food, atmosphere, and vibe were all uninteresting. The bill for 3 people with no alcohol was almost $500 for three mediocre 5oz steaks. I left feeling...
