What the hell did we just walk into? This was the absolute best ramen I've ever had in my life. Back home in Canada (vancouver), there's a strong Japanese population with tons of ramen. This destroys every bowl I've ever had. Period. Nothing I'll ever have at home will be This good. The broth... thiccccc and rich. The noodles... so chewey, thick, and tasty. The price for 2 large ramen (1x spicy miso, 1x regular miso) and a 5pc gyoza were the price of 1 bowl of ramen at home.
Ps - The Deluxe Spicy Miso Ramen with Medium spice is quite spicy but so good. Maybe a 6.5/10 for spicy level... Makes you sweat, and as a spicy lover, no complaints but mild medium may be other people's preference.
We were going to go to one of the popular shops with a line. We decided we didn't want to wait 45 minutes, and boy i am so happy we didn't. I'm sure the wait in lined up places are great and delicious, but how this place didn't have a line blows me away. If I could give this place 10 Stars, I would. Beyond happy. Extremely satisfied. So happy, full, and content. ★★★★★★★★★★
Best Ramen on our vacation.
Thank you so much...
Read moreDeceptively light for Tokyo style miso ramen. I’m giving it 4 stars but realistically, it’s more 3.5 stars for me.
Things I enjoyed: the wok fried bean sprouts egg cooked beautifully the char siu the lightness the cold water the way it was plated (or bowled?), reminded me of some beautiful nature scene in the mountains with a river of sauce
Things I found questionable: there is no doubt that a lot goes into the soup, the open kitchen showcases the myriad of sauces and ingredients that goes into each bowl which should result in a complex and delicious flavour; however, the taste of the soup is actually very mild and not so tasty. Perhaps all the various ingredients cancelled each other out? lol. Anyways, for me, I enjoyed the lightness, but also, the soup felt like it was missing something (umami? flavour?), I can’t call it tasty… the noodles were….standard miso thick noodles, didn’t care...
Read moreThere are so many options of where to eat ramen in Tokyo, it is impossible to try them all, but for us, after eating almost only Ramen the whole time, this was the best Ramen we ate in Tokyo, actually for us the best of every other city we want to as well. I guess this is why we came here 4 times in 3,5 weeks and have been talking about this place for the last 6 months since we have been back from our trip. We loved everything. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was just magic. We ate Tsukemen almost every time, but the Ramen is also extremely delicious. The thick broth is an explosion of flavor, the meat perfectly tender and the noodles have an incredible texture. We cannot wait to come back to Toyko and have the first meal here at this very special place.
Update: came back 4 years later and I still feel the same way, I will always come back to this place, Misoya Hachiro - you...
