music bar 45 — Restaurant in Tokyo

A great selection of whiskey, gin, sake, shochu and various other spirits for your drinking pleasure, especially if you enjoy japanese spirits.

The price for drinks are reflective of the surprisingly low costs of liquor in Tokyo when compared to NYC.

The atmosphere in the bar and the music selection is sublime; related to the music, I didn't even come in during a live music or DJ performance, but the bartender's taste and expertise in music is amazing (in my opinion).

This brings me to the bartender - I won't put his name on the review as I believe part of the charm in getting to know someone is learning their name. The bartender at music bar 45 is truly what a bartender should be; he not only has extensive knowledge of the drinks and spirits he serves, but also exudes a welcoming air to his customers. There is true liberty in conversation with the bartender and the patrons of the bar, and combined with the bartender's extensive travel and work experience and the atmosphere provided by the bar's tasteful interior, makes for conversation that will have you missing your last train.

I don't think I can give higher praise for this bar.

I truly recommend just going alone or with a good friend who enjoys conversation. My Japanese is rather lacking, but the bartender and patrons' relatively strong grasp of English and willingness to work to translate words made it more...

This place is awesome! The owner, Yoshi, was there to serve us and spoke very good English. He’s extremely friendly and genuine and also knows his drinks!

He was able to provide advice to what Japanese whisky is like to drink that was comparable to the scotch I like. He didn’t disappoint.

On the night we went there were 3 dj’s on rotation so a 500yen cover charge per person was applied. He accepts cash only so come prepared. This place is right in the heart of Shibuya and great for a chill night or as a passing through drinking hole for the night.

If you want food before you head here, Go to Hakushu which is two doors down. Some of the best food cooked right in front of you. Very unique experience. (See my review for that too) But book...

Yoshi is the best!!! If you can make time to come here, you will not be disappointed. By chance, my husband and I were looking for a quick place to get a drink...so we Googled and found Music Bar 45.

It's on the 2nd floor and offers a nice setting for listening to music and meeting new people. Yoshi is very friendly and speaks a great amount of English (which was helpful to us).
