Good small restaurant near Ueno subway station. We went there for brunch around 11am before heading to the airport . Like most restaurant we visited in Tokyo, there was no waiter/waitress or table service. Instruction was clear for ordering. We ordered using the provided tablet on each sit. Yes, each sit has a tablet. Using the tablet is easier to order than using my own phone as the tablet has a larger screen. I can not read Japanese, but we are able to switch to English on the tablet and there are pictures of the dishes, which makes it easier. The ordering process is easy. There were no table service so we got our own water from the water vending machine and bus our own trays when done, just like fast food in America. I like this type of restaurant a lot as we do not pay tips which add to the cost. I like the Japanese culture of no tipping. The price was very reasonable. Roughly around 1000 yen per curry dish, but you can go over when adding more options. Japanese curry is the best curry I like among all the different variant of curry. The curry taste great and thick. My family enjoyed the brunch very much. Overall, a very nice place...
Read moreA curry rice shop from a famous food chain There are several branches in Tokyo but I chose this one in Ueno. It's a small shop with only counter seats. If you come with more than 1 person, you can find seats next to each other if it is not a busy time such as noon or evening. You can order your food from a tablet at your table, which is available in a variety of languages. When your food is ready, you just go to the counter to get your food and sit down to eat. And this restaurant, when you're done eating, you're supposed to take your food back with you.I ordered the fried pork curry which was very delicious. The curry had a rich flavor and a nice rich texture. The fried pork was fried just right, crispy and not tough.Importantly, it is a restaurant with very...
Read moreWe arrived in Japan today, and came to this place for dinner. When we came in, we did not know how to order even there were signs on the wall. They didn’t have waiters. We then asked the clerk and she told us to sit at one of the tables. Then, there was the tablet for each table for you to do self-order. When you placed your orders, the tablet would remind you to go pick up at the counter. After you finished your meal, return the dish to the assigned place. That was the entire experience. The curry was pretty good, and I order the simmered chicken and variety of vegetables with level 1 spicy. It was like the regular...
