NIKU-AZABU in Roppongi — Restaurant in Tokyo

Food was fine, But I don't recommend any foreign tourists who don't speak Japanese to go to this restaurant. The staff in the restaurant didn't know basic English and it was difficult to communicate and the English menu is really confusing which directly led to me ordering the wrong food. I wanted that 4800¥ set meal for one person but the English menu didn't specify what food was included(The Japanese version has an explanation). I asked the staff What's included in this meal / how many food I can get but she didn't understand what I meant. Then I asked how many items on the right side of the menu I could choose and she told me it was unlimited. It was not until I checked out that I realized that the food on the right was all additional food items and all of them nothing about the set meal. In the end I was paying almost double the price of the set menu for this dinner, although even it’s still cheaper than London and Paris but it was a bad experience. You don’t have to speak Japanese to eat here like that one star suggests. There’s no conspiracy either. I don’t speak Japanese and the waiter didn’t speak English and I used Google translate and it was fine. Also Google translate camera mode when I wanted to interpret the menu sections that were not English. That’s a given in any foreign country. I came here w my teen kids and had the 5000 Omakase menu and we were all very satisfied and really stuffed when we left. The waiter who was grilling for us was really nice but she accidentally burnt the skin of one chicken and the manager noticed and replaced it twice (yeah, she burnt it twice). I thought the manager was really thoughtful to replace the charred chicken entirely and start over so we can have a proper bite. I appreciated that. The place is a little small and can get loud but it’s not terrible- hence 4 stars for atmosphere. Glad we found this place on Google search. I would highly recommend...

The food and the service was absolutely fantastic. The meat was marinated and seasoned so well that they all tasted great. The servers offered to either cook for us or let us cook ourselves which I thought was nice. The meat omakase was amazing because they told us which meats were which as well as which sauces to dip the meat in. The servers were extremely kind and even help us with our poor Japanese skills.
