Ningyocho Imahan Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C. Restaurant — Restaurant in Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan - Just amazing from service, ambiance, quality to taste of food and ingredients, and even the price was very reasonable for what it was! It’s a chain so you can just look up one near your area. Highly recommend it if you want some delicious Wagyu sukiyaki (shabu decent too but sukiyaki tasted better I thought).

The service was very polite, friendly and thoughtful. Our waitress was dressed in a traditional kimono and spoke limited English, and I tried to speak my super limited Japanese too, so between that, we're able to understand each other at least lol. I preordered our items online, and she double checked with our order. FYI kids meal can only be ordered online ahead of time. They don't have it on their menu, and the waitress also confirmed that.

The kids sukiyaki was very affordable, and the quality of the beef was still amazing. It came cooked already in a pot of rice and vegetables. The beef had great texture, marbling and taste!

As for our beef, we got the premium Wagyu for both shabu and sukiyaki, but I think the basic Wagyu could've sufficed, because the premium was a bit too fatty for me I think! I can't imagine what the top grade would taste like - just butter? Lol

The kanto style sukiyaki involved cooking everything together with the sauce at once, so although it didn't get the charred flavor that I prefer in the kansai style, at least all the meat and veggies got an even taste of umami and sweetness. It's nice to try a new style.

Quality of ingredients were of course top notch, from the rice to the meat. Everything was flavorful.

The service was amazing, so was the ambiance. Each party had an individual room, and a rack to hang out jackets and jacket covers too. There was also a bell in case we couldn't find our waitress.

The location could be a little tricky to find... in the old takashimaya building, it's on the 8th floor, but in the new annex building, it's the 6th floor. If you aren't sure, make sure you ask the elevator attendant and she'll show you!

Full mark for this restaurant! We came quite late night, even the department store in lower floor already closed 🤣. We forgot what we ordered but it was amazing, definitely best experience. The beef quality was amazing, dip it into the yolk and it will melt in your mouth. You can control the taste by either adding sauce to thicken the taste or water to thinned it. The set itself comes with the meat, veggies and after that you will be served by egg fried rice.

The place itself looks luxurious. Thick carpet, plenty space and table. Lucky me no queue needed 👍🏻 The service was great, i forgot the name of the employee but i have a very good impression from the first he greeted me in the door, taking our order, until we pay our meal. I was in Tokyo for 5 days and came to this restaurant 3 times out of the 5! That’s how much I enjoyed it.

I always ordered the steak set, which comes with a salad and a choice of sirloin or tenderloin. Both were amazing — the beef was so tasty, tender, and just melted in my mouth.

The service here is just as impressive as the food. The staff are super polite and thoughtful. On my second visit, the waitress remembered what I didn’t eat in my salad, and by my third visit, my salad came already adjusted without me even asking. That really surprised me in the best way.

Delicious food + thoughtful service = one of my favorite dining experiences in Tokyo. Definitely coming back here again....
