Overall a great stay. Very clean and spacious room, with comfortable beds and a large TV. ||Location: great! Easy to take transit to Red Tower, Team Labs, and nearby attractions, or could have walked in cooler weather. Tons of restaurants nearby, too. ||Service: staff was very friendly! Although after saying we didn’t need cleaning, the cleaning lady did come in anyway (she cleared garbage, gave towels/robes, asked if we needed coffee, and for some reason changed the TV show we were watching to a local fishing channel…? Not sure I understood what was going on because my Japanese isn’t great, but she was quite nice despite the odd interaction)||Amenities: I’ll be honest, since this was the hotel we “splurged” on, I did expect a bit more than other (cheaper) hotels provided. But we didn’t have a microwave in this one, I only figured out the shower heat on the last day, and the fridge was tiny. There is laundry, but it’s right in the lobby / breakfast area, so I was personally a bit too socially anxious to actually use it. Still a super nice room, don’t get me wrong, the vibe was very fancy, but I felt we got more actual amenities from cheaper hotels. In terms of little teas, toothbrushes, hair brushes, etc there was plenty, and the AC worked splendidly. ||Accessibility: there was an elevator, which was nice. We struggled a bit finding the entrance, but that’s probably a skill issue. The minimal kitchen amenities did prove a challenge for my dietary restrictions, but the plethora of takeout options would be an easy alternative for someone else. ||Security: the elevator stopped at the lobby each time it was used, and there were sliding doors requiring key-cards on each floor / for each room, so it felt very secure. I was still able to order food contactless one night, and just had the delivery person drop it on a table in front of the floor’s sliding doors. ||Overall happy with the short stay we had, but would be equally/more content at one of the less expensive hotels we stayed at that were just as...
Read moreThe Monte Hermana Tokyo is a small hotel that opened in 2022, but the hotel feels like it’s brand new!|Located on a very quiet backstreet just one block from Tokyo Station Yaesu Central Exit. It’s an easy 5 minute walk. Once you have left your bags in the hotel. You can use the under passage that is located on the main street around the corner from the hotel entrance. From there you have access to a massive amount of restaurants and shopping, as well as access to Tokyo Station. Perfect when raining! |The Hotel has a discreet entrance and the reception is on the second floor. The staff is very welcoming and speaks perfect English. Passed the reception desk at the second floor is an area that serves breakfast for an additional fee (2640 Yen). During the day turns into a communal area with free coffee and tea. There is also a very handy launderette on the same floor. The rooms are of standard size for Japan. I had a “Single Room” on the 12th floor. It’s very modern and a very fresh look. It has a small fridge and a TV that you can cast you to from you device of choice. The bed is firm but comfortable. The only down side with this room is that it has NO storage. Except for the coat hanger rack there is not a single drawer or other storage. For a night or two it will not matter for the average salary man. But if you plan a longer stay, come prepared. Have your cloths in packing cubes or some sort of help to handle you things. |The staff here is eager to help you out with any questions you might have, and the location is the unbeatable. I highly...
Read moreThe location might seem close to Tokyo Station; however the walk from Tokyo Station to the exit that is close to the hotel is pretty far. It will be quite a struggle if you have more than one luggage or a heavy luggage or a small child with or without a stroller, since the exit that is close to the hotel does not have an elevator or escalator (most exits are like that), and you will have to walk up a decent long stairs carrying your luggage, stroller, child, etc. It's best if you don't have all those things, but the walk from the station to the exit is still going to be pretty far. The hotel itself is decent. We only stayed in a room for two people for one night before we left Tokyo for another destination. The room is not that big, but it's enough for one big suitcase and a smaller suitcase, and it's good enough for one night for two adults. There's a bathtub in the bathroom, a small fridge, and a TV. The hotel provided two sets of pajamas which was nice, since we didn't have to open our suitcases. There were toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other toiletries in the bathroom. At check-in, you could grab some face masks, small packets of facial cream, cleanser, oil, etc. All in all, this hotel is more suitable for big kids (12 yrs old and above) and adults and for limited nights. You could hardly do any activity in the room with little kids. It will also feel pretty tight. There are some restaurants nearby, and there are some adult bars and "entertainment" right next door and...
