Tucked away in the bustling heart of Tokyo, Pizza Slice is a revelation—an unpretentious gem that just might be serving the best pizza on this side of the planet, let alone the continent. From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with that nostalgic New York pizzeria vibe—industrial design, laid-back ambiance, and the intoxicating smell of dough, cheese, and wood-fired magic. But make no mistake, this isn’t just a good Tokyo pizza joint. This is world-class. The slices are massive, foldable, and perfectly thin with that delicate chew and just the right amount of crisp on the bottom. The tomato sauce? Bright, tangy, and clearly crafted with care. The cheese pull is dramatic—in the best way—and the toppings are high-quality, balanced, and thoughtfully selected. Whether you’re grabbing a classic pepperoni, a margherita that sings with basil and olive oil, or something inventive like the spicy sausage and jalapeño, every bite proves the same thing: Pizza Slice gets it. The staff are cool, the vibe is chill, and the energy is effortlessly authentic. It’s not trying too hard—it doesn’t have to. When the food is this good, you let the pizza do the talking. Final verdict: If you're in Tokyo and craving something that feels like home but tastes like a culinary elevation of it, Pizza Slice is the destination. This isn't just the best pizza in Japan—this might be the best pizza on the continent. Full stop.

Pizza Slice Cat Street is located in the basement below the Puma store on Cat Street in Harajuku. The decor is brutalist concrete with wooden furniture throughout, but be warned that some pieces are very low to the floor, which may be a little difficult for taller people. Two large speakers on the far wall blast uncensored American hip-hop. The store is clean and well-lit, with polite and efficient staff. Similar to its other branch, Commissary, the place seems to attract a certain type of customer. The pizza slices are reasonably priced, from JPY 484 for a cheese slice up to JPY 770 for pricier options. Whole pizzas are also available and are prepared very quickly, in just a little over five minutes from what I saw. Same quality as NYC pizzerias and good for US expats missing home. I arrived with a group of three on a Saturday night at 7:30 pm and had no wait.

When ever I make the journey to come to tokyo I always stop by this store for a quick slice and a beer. The staff are very helpful and nice to every customer at least from the experiences from when I have visited. Sometimes you dont want to go out and have a big meal and all you need is a piece of pizza and beer especially during this summer weather right now. The beer will really cool you down. It may be a small store but there is a surprising amount of seating.

I used to frequent their store near Tokyo Midtown but was so disappointed when I found out they closed down. It was a reachable distance from my work place so it was a great place to reward myself for a week’s work or when I accomplished something.

After that, I knew they had a store in Omotesando area from ubering a few times, but only stumbled across the actual store yesterday! I’m glad to see some of the staff I used to see and it feels more spacious from the previous store I frequented, and really nice vibe. I enjoyed the open kitchen as I can see how the staff looked relaxed, confident but efficient which I feel really contributes to the vibe of the place.

Amazing food as always! Simple pizzas but giant sized. Thin crusted as I love it, and freshly made. The garlic knots and fries are really good too. My go to drink is the pink lemonade squash. Really satisfying.

I wish they would bring back the pulled pork one they had as their special a while ago. That was...

Let me tell you about the story of the homesick New Yorker. I'd had some subpar pizza the night before, this mushy personal pie at this Italian sounding restaurant chain. Yeah I know, what did I expect right?

Then I wanted redemption and while I was out around Cat street what do I see but a sign that says Pizza Slice in front of a set of stairs. I check reviews, and heartened by reviews, I go and have a slice of pepperoni. What I find is plenty of seats, a fun atmosphere, and great service to ensue.

As a New Yorker, born and raised who was missing home, this slice was perfect. The crust holds up to folding in half with some light crunch, the sauce has a great ratio to the rest of the slice, and the taste is what I was looking for in a slice of thin crust pepperoni pizza.

In a word, redemption. A slice straight out of the ovens in Brooklyn. Mango black tea was...
