PIZZERIA D'ORO — Restaurant in Tokyo

The food is fine, pizzas are good. However, the service quality is very poor.

Every time I came for lunch (5-6 times) : I/We are ignored by the staff for several minutes, even when we come for the second time in one week The staff never smiles It even happened that I was ignored at the entrance with a staff member right in front of me, too busy with counting money, not replying when I said "hello, I'd like to have lunch" in Japanese. When someone else finally welcomed me after several minutes standing inside the restaurant, I was asked... To wait outside.

Service is a basic thing for a restaurant, especially in Japan. Please don't work in a restaurant if you don't like welcoming your clients. I also saw Japanese clients leaving after waiting...

We were roaming the streets near our hotel looking at dinner options. Came upon Pizzeria D'oro in Chiyoda City. Atmospheric from the street but not too busy at the time. When we asked for a table we were told 'yes, but we need the table by 8'. I knew then that we might be onto something. Everything was impeccable. The olives were fresh and came with some crispy little biscuits. The mixed green salad was so so fresh with mixed leaves, thin radish, grated carrot, perfectly blanched broccoli. And a well balanced dressing. So much care. Then the pizza. We had the prosciutto and rocket. A thin base, delicious prosciutto and freshest rocket and stringy mozzarella.
