Lamb Navarin 🇫🇷🐑 @pourtoi201381
A delightful French bistro located near Akasaka station, Pour Toi recently celebrated its 8th anniversary and is loved by its many loyal customers. 🥳
When I worked in Akasaka several years ago, this was one of my favorite places for celebrating team lunches or welcoming new employees to the company. 🎉
Lunch is a fixed 3 course meal of salad, main dish & dessert plate with coffee/tea included. Some of the mains incur an additional cost. 🍽
The house specialty salad comes with at least 10 different ingredients - today's included wild boar terrine, fresh ham, chicken ham, roast ham, tomatoes, carrot, pickles, and others. 🥗
Be warned ⚠️ - the volume of this salad is absolutely huge! If you don't have a massive appetite, ask for a smaller portion or you might be too full to enjoy the main course and desserts. 😅
Lamb navarin is a French ragoût and this one comes on the bone giving it a wild look. Coming with mash, zucchini, pumpkin, carrot rapé, mushroom, broccoli, and spices on the side it was a healthy and great tasting dish perfect for these chillier autumn days. 🔥
Dessert is an assortment of six! 😱 small slices of different cakes. With an array of sweet & sour, tastes and soft & hard textures it is a fun & fantastic way to finish the meal. 🍰
If you are in the Akasaka area and looking for a casual bistro that offers great food with warm hospitality at amazing value, Pour Toi is highly recommended! ☺️👌🏼

Read moreOne of our colleagues found this restaurant and this place quickly became very popular spot for company lunches. Before I get started - I visited hundreds of restaurants in Tokyo and Japan, but this place surprised me quite a lot - in a good way.
The owner is very passionate not only about his cooking and food, but also about his restaurant business overall. Little details like hand-drawn menu, little avatars of his face on the staircase, the whole design of the restaurant dining area feels comfy and relaxed.
Why am I mentioning this in particular? Hefty amount of French restaurants here in Tokyo are acting posh, requiring a dress code, with a snobbish atmosphere á la Wolf of Wall Street. Not to mention steep prices which are in many cases not accompanied by an adequate food quality.
But Pour Toi is different. Great food (the entree salad is just unbelievable), reasonable prices, nice atmosphere, a very skilled owner who handles the whole place by himself and even though I almost never eat dessert - in this case I always make an exception.
You will hardly find value for money ratio like this in any other French restaurant. Please give it a try - you will...
Read moreI love coming to this place! The food is very delicious. It’s simple but has very great flavors. The chef is a very hard working man who loves serving great dishes to his guests. His staff are also very friendly and accommodating. We come to this place all the time and we never get tired of how good the food is. It is literally the best and biggest lunch you’ll ever have for 2000yen! It is such a great deal with very delicious and memorable food made by the humble chef/owner.
