I urge everyone to avoid ordering the matcha latte. It fell way way way below expectations 🥲
I had been curious about the Ralph's Coffee matcha latte for a while. I had previously tried their iced latte and felt it wasn't bad so I was hoping to say the same for their matcha. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
The matcha was way too sweet to the point that I debated whether I should even finish it or not. Also, as someone who has been drinking matcha for years and now even makes matcha lattes at home, I felt that the powder used was not very high quality. Since this is a cafe run by Ralph Lauren, I expected much better given that it's owned by a big corporation. I ordered a lemon cake as well and it was alright. A very standard pastry you can find in most Japanese cafes.
The service and atmosphere was excellent though. The staff were very organized since the line does tend to fill up quickly. If you ask to be seated outside, you'll most likely be able to get a table right away!
Overall, I should have just gotten the lemon cake to go and made my own matcha...
Read moreServer or waitress(?) was so rude to us. She was the one outside and manning the queue.
We weren’t aware that we needed to line up before we got a table but there weren’t a lot of people in line and there of tables available. There were no signs but once we were made aware we went to line up even though there was only one person ahead of us. When it was our turn she just let us sit in the same table we wanted in the first place so I don’t understand why she had to make us get up and go to the line just to make us sit at the same place. When she asked how many we were I said there were 2 of us then she said “Yes, I know.” Why did she even ask if she was just going to say that 😂
When we asked for the menu she straight up ignored us as if we weren’t there. Probably the rudest cafe/restaurant I’ve encountered in Tokyo. It was disappointing because it was nice out at night with the cool weather and you could see the Omotesando Illumination lights. Food and drinks were average but the experience was just tampered because of the...
Read moreFoods, beverages, and the ambiance is great. I love this place so much and would recommend it to everyone. I LOVE their spice tea (or maybe it’s differently named... I forgot.) and cake is great too!
BUT. I don’t think they’re doing great on the “social distancing” aspect. I was sitting at the corner table the other day, and ended up sitting very VERY close to other customers once the couple decided to sit right next to me. I know this pandemic is taking a toll on the food industry, so to be more profitable they need more customers in their cafe, (and I know maybe I should not have gone to the cafe during the pandemic... I feel slightly guilty about it), but I think they should make more effort in reducing the tables and hence ensuring the safety of their customers. Do they WANT their establishment to be recognized as a “cluster location”???
So. If you don’t want to sit really REALLY close to other customers, avoid going there when it’s crowded. (Dah) I recommend you going there right after they’ve...
