An intimate local ramen house with a small but tasty selection of dishes and limited drinks. For solo or couple travelers, this was a quiet place to have a nice bowl of ramen after a day of exploring.
Upon entering, you put your money into the machine on the right and press the button for which dishes you want. Ticket will come out of the machine. If there is a free seat, sit down (all the seats are around the bar) and hand your tickets to the person when prompted. If there are no free seats, just wait outside the front door and the worker will call you when the seats are free/cleaned up.
I had the Bakumori, which isn’t ramen but more like Abura Soba with egg and pork chashu, (thick noodles with oil at the bottom - no broth. With this dish, you can pick if you want 200g, 300g, or 400g of noodles (the worker will as you what you want when they take your ticket). I picked 300g as I wasn’t sure and it ended up being too much for me. The noodles are very thick and filling.
I’d recommend this place if you want some nice, authentic ramen and...
Read moreThis is the best ramen I've ever had. I dream about this ramen back in the states. I will be making it a point to dine there when we return to Japan next month. When we arrived, there was a line out the door. This place is very popular among the locals. Tourists - be prepared to order from a vending machine and provide your ticket to someone at the counter. Also be prepared to communicate solely in Japanese if necessary but it likely won't be. I brushed up on some basic expressions of politeness in Japanese to share with the staff while there. You will sit at the counter and watch them prepare the ramen. They specialize in fatty ramen so if you do not enjoy this type of ramen, simply this will not be for you. I had never tried it before but it was rich and quite flavorful. It is considered a compliment to slurp your ramen while eating as it demonstrates you are enjoying your meal. It is customary to eat quickly and not linger as a courtesy to guests waiting to dine after you. Enjoy! Arigatou gozaimasu~ I look forward to dining there...
Read moreI was craving Jiro style ramen, and decided to try this shop. Although this shop’s ramen is not exactly Jiro style, it is similar in a way. I was wanted very heavy and fatty ramen 😆
This shop specializes in fatty pork bone broth ramen. I order the bakumori fatty ramen. You get to choose the amount of noodles (200, 300 or 400 grams).
There is a small basket filled with various condiments for the ramen. Mayonnaise, mustard, grated Kraft Parmesan cheese, chili powder, Szechuan chili powder, dried fish flakes, etc. they recommended these toppings to go with the bakumori ramen 🤔
I really enjoyed the noodles. They arefirm, thick and dense. The ramen was extremely fatty and the broth was minimal, it was an interesting style. I wished there was a bit more broth and chashu, but it was good and satisfied my craving 😆
If I were to go back I might try the miso ramen or Tsukemen. Their miso ramen...
