We dropped in for the morning omakase after tackling the morning tour of toyosu fish auction. The restaurant is located in the same entrance hall to the management building where you check in for your tours.
The omakase was fantastic and one of the best we’ve had so far into the trip. Hard to beat the freshness of the fish, given the direct access to the fish market. However, the experienced hands of the chefs also played an equal role in the dining experience.
English speakers - the chefs didn’t speak much English. However, you will be able to get by with minimal to no Japanese. Just point at what you want on the menu.
However, I will always recommend being able to speak some Japanese when visiting Japan. It’ll make for a much more comfortable experience for you and those you may be traveling with.

Read moreI had an amazing experience at ryu. Its really well worth the visit. I went after my tour of the toyusu tuna auction(vid attached). Had the omakase course at 4500, which i thought was fair value for what was served to me piece my piece, eith the chef trying to explain each course to me as i was sitting at the counter. Its pointless really tslking about the freshness as i was literally sitting in the fish market eating. But what can be pointed out is that the chef chooses their own fidh from the market on a daily basis. This ensures thst you dine on what they want you to try. This was my first taste of blue fin toro and it blew me away. I have never tasted any fish like that before. Its a flavour explosion on your palate that just melts almost before you can chew it. Every course was good though. Last course being eel, a really fluffy silky piece. Overall a fantastic dining experience as the service was...

Not disappointed at all because every piece the chef cut for us was very fresh and delicious. freshness of food. Food at the market should not be too expensive compared to restaurants in central Tokyo. Really an unforgettable experience. If you go to the fish market, remember to dine here. Not...
