I feel that whatever I try to put into words here will simply not do justice to the evening and experience that we had.

We arrived a few minutes before our scheduled time on a slightly drizzle Monday evening. We were warmly greeted by the staff, who showed us to a small waiting room and took drink orders.

A short moment later we were brought to our seats and the adventure began. It could even be thought of as a theatre production and less of a dinner. It was clearly structured with a very exciting, thoughtful, colourful and engaging opening act. A combination of ingredients including some very delicate and aromatic flowers. For those of you who may be intimated by expectations of etiquette, there were staff at hand to explain and guide throughout. We received great explanations of the courses in English, with some great background.

There is a great supporting wine list of champagnes, whites and reds by the bottle or glass. Some truly wonderful natural wine options too, should your taste sway that way.

The chef is most certainly the highlight, and the reason why we made reservations. Friendly, funny, an expert at his craft but with a passion to push things further. An eye for detail and a desire for perfection.

There is no menu given in advance for the omakase, so it is all a surprise. We intentionally skipped lunch and still left this feeling mighty full yet still light on our feet. Very much perfect.

Highlight dishes: Swordfish, uni, black cod.

It is definitely going to remain a highlight of our trip here and I hope to be back as soon as possible. Truly an amazing...

We had a wonderful time; everything was delicious and the atmosphere was welcoming and quite warm: the chef truly wanted you to feel relaxed while dining. When my partner was getting full, they happily made changes to her serving experience making her pieces small enough to allow her to taste, but not eat a lot. I was also allowed to eat her portion once she became too full.

The chef was funny, informative, entertaining, and masterful. The food was absolutely flavorful and delicious. (I’ve never really liked mackerel, but its now my favorite since having a smoked mackerel… still dreaming about it)

Great first omakase experience and will be...

Service was ok, but the atmosphere was uncomfortable with me and my wife being the only customers surrounded by 2 chefs and 3 waiters in a small room for the first 30 mins.

Food tastes average, and ingredients are not particularly fresh and seasonal, which is disappointing for their price. With $280 per head, we definitely expected better craftsmanship or at least something surprising with ingredients treatment. However, seasoning and layering of flavours are basic and blend for the cooked-dishes. Sushi rice tastes extremely pungent and sour which takes away the flavours of the...

I would say the food is not bad, but if you don’t speak Japanese, I do not recommend you to eat for two reasons. One reason is that the chef only chatted with Japanese customers even only two groups of clients there. The other one reason is because ehe chef chatted loudly. I don’t think he respected the foreign customers properly. Therefore, if you don’t speak Japanese, you have better choice for that price. But I still mention that the food is not bad.
