After a long day braving Tokyo’s heat and wandering the city, we stopped here hoping for nothing more than a “quick” beer to recharge. The place was empty, just the two of us and five waitstaff with seemingly little to do. Despite that, our very simple order turned into confusion: they double-checked it three times, and at one point even asked if we wanted two rounds of the same drinks at once (one set for me and another set for my friend).
When the drinks finally arrived, they came with a small plate of cold cuts. At first, we thought this was a kind gesture. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a hidden charge: two tiny slices of ham added to the bill at a surprisingly steep price.
We didn’t want to cause a scene, so we paid and left… but it left a sour taste. It was disappointing not only because of the service, but also because it’s something you would not expect from a genuine Japanese establishment (ironically, none of the staff appeared to be Japanese).

Although one can argue, that they had to adapt some of the dishes to the Japanese taste, which is obviously the main target group. Additionally the prices are three times as high as in Germany.
