We initially didn't have high expectations for this hotel, as we usually stay in Otemachi where the views are higher and more modern. We thought this Four Seasons might be noisy or outdated. However, we absolutely loved our stay because the hotel provided much more than just a bed.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a pleasant travel experience. If you prefer newer and higher-end rooms with great views, there are many options at this price point. However, here are some highlights of our stay:
The room directly overlooks the entire rail track complex at Tokyo Station. The busy metro and Shinkansen passing by made my 3-year-old son scream with excitement. He had the opportunity to observe each train up close, yet there was almost no noise inside the room! Every time we returned to the hotel, the staff would come out and warmly greeted us, opened the door, and made us feel at home. The hotel childproofed every piece of furniture in the room and provided age-appropriate amenities for our child. The manager's letter to our child was adorable. We were lucky to spot the Dr. Yellow Shinkansen, thanks to the hotel's tip! The whole family was thrilled and grateful for the hotel's thoughtful touch that made our trip exciting. The pajamas were extremely comfortable. While the room may be older, it felt cozy. The housekeeping staff would arrange our items according to our habits and even placed a towel on the floor for me to do my makeup. The concierge was excellent, helping us, who don't speak Japanese, by calling around to find merchandise and recommending and booking restaurants. All we needed to do was send a text, and we would get an immediate response.
Each stay at Four Seasons deeply moves us with the hotel's culture and human touch. We've decided to continue choosing Four Seasons for our future trips. A big thanks to the management and staff for making the hotel's shortcomings seem...
Read moreThe service at the Four Seasons is amazing: there are lots of staff to assist you in the lobby and in the restaurant/bar. They are all very professional, friendly, and helpful. When we ordered an iron/ironing board, it showed up within minutes, and when we called to have them picked up, they also showed up immediately. They know how to provide impeccable customer service and seem to take pride in doing so.
The location near Tokyo Station and the Ginza district is excellent. The room was large with floor to ceiling windows, and it was very quiet – never heard any of the neighbors.
The breakfast buffet was delicious with Greek yogurt and fresh blueberries/raspberries, as well as tasty pastries (I loved the chocolate croissants). They will take your order for eggs cooked however you want and deliver them warm to your table. Someone is always there to refill your water and coffee, and they come by your table with fresh apple jam (that they make in-house) served in a scooped-out apple. The Happy Hour was very reasonable priced (considering it’s the Four Seasons): Y800 drinks with gourmet treats to nibble on: Parmesan cheese with seasoning, popcorn with truffle seasoning, and spicy mixed nuts. It’s very relaxing to sit at a small table for a drink in the evening overlooking the trains coming and going to Tokyo Station.
Although I didn’t use the Spa with Onsen bath, we did get a tour and it looked very inviting and relaxing. My daughter worked out in their gym that had floor to ceiling windows looking over Tokyo – it also was a nice facility. The only negative thing was the roll-away bed: my daughter said it was the most uncomfortable bed she’s ever slept on: hard as a board with the springs poking her in the back. That was unfortunate considering how much we spent for the room. We should have complained – they probably would’ve replaced it, so it’s our fault...
Read moreI really wish I could give this Four Seasons the full 5 stars because the service here is fabulous and if I could, I would give 6 stars just for the service, however, the overall stay doesn’t stand upto the standards of Four Seasons. The biggest issue is the hotel itself. It feels like it is force-fitted into a hotel in a big commercial building. The location is excellent, right by the Tokyo Station, and convenient for everything. The lobby is ridiculously small. Rooms are on the lower levels of the building and are boring. Hallways are equally boring. Views are not-so-good to okay. You won’t feel you are at Four Seasons until you see the Four Seasons signs here and there and of course, the final bill. ||They have two restaurants while pretty much all other 5 star hotels in Tokyo have several dining options, and one of those two restaurants is a Michelin starred restaurant, which is great, but you can’t get a reservation there so constrained to just one restaurant all the time. Either you have all the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the same restaurant or go somewhere outside. ||The service here is consistently one of the best I have experienced. Japan is known for great service and most 5 star hotels in Japan provide excellent service but I would still put this as one of the best. The entire staff deserves kudos for consistently providing such good service. Also, the quality of food is good even with the limited options. By the way, they bake one of the best madeleines in the world! I bought them several times for friends and everyone absolutely loved them. ||May not be my top choice in Tokyo but I would go back just for great service and of course,...
