This is a pretty good place in Kabuchiko and came here around 3 times. I’d honestly recommend this place for foreigners since the prices aren’t too bad and the menu is decently sized enough overall. If you look like a foreigner, they just instantly give you the English menu, even if you speak/read Japanese.
For pros:
Menu is pretty decently sized with a lot of options. You can find something you like somewhere on the menu
It’s both shabu and sukisaki.
The beef tastes pretty great and is of pretty good quality. I’m not sure if the high quality is A5 but it is marbled.
Manager (or owner) is pretty friendly. He goes around talking to people.
For cons: This is more of a con that a lot of restaurants do but they take away the menu after ordering. I wish they left a drink menu somewhere.
You can’t order the shabu shabu course if your alone. You have to order either sukiyaki course or the shabu shabu a la carte. The a la carte is 500 yen less if I remember but it looks like it comes with a lot less stuff than the actual course. If they added in one more meat item or dessert with the al la carte shabu shabu then sure the price would be reasonable, but overall it feels like not enough food...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with the service I received at Niimura restaurant. During my recent visit, my party and I were enjoying our meal when a waitress suddenly turned off the fire that was heating our food without any warning or explanation. This action was highly disruptive and ruined our dining experience.
Not only did we have to wait for the food to cool down before we could continue eating, but the waitress did not apologize or offer any explanation for her actions. Her behavior was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful, and it left a bad taste in our mouths.
As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy by the staff of any establishment I visit. The fact that this incident occurred at Niimura, a restaurant that prides itself on providing exceptional service, is unacceptable.
I hope that the management of Niimura will take this feedback seriously and take steps to ensure that similar incidents do not occur in the future. As a customer, I expect nothing less than the highest level of service and professionalism from the staff of any establishment that I choose...
