Shubelu Shin-Ōkubo — Restaurant in Tokyo

We stumbled upon this place by chance actually. We were looking for a cafe and saw their sign on a window as we were passing by.

This place is pretty retro, it has an old-fashioned look to it. At first we sat in the four person table since it was big enough for all of us, but the waiter moved us to a bigger table. The windows out front have a pretty view of the train station and the main street.

Originally we just planned to share a cake slice and a drink but the waiter was saying something I couldn't understand and wouldn't take our order. We were thinking that maybe each of us have to order something so I got a hojicha as well. After saying that, he left to prepare our orders. So from that interaction, everyone in the party has to order one thing.

The hojicha was great. It was rich, creamy, and had a nutty flavor. My drink was pretty good. The crepe cake we ordered was good too. We were impressed with the layers, the fruit fillings, and how light the cream was. Also, we wanted to stay a little longer to work on our things but we found out that there's no wifi. From my experience, I don't think this is the type of cafe to stay for a couple hours to read/journal/etc., so that was a little disappointing but we didn't know.

The atmosphere of this place was really nice and the view by the windows are really nice if you like people watching. I ordered their “meat sauce pasta” and their cake set with I picked the fruit crepe and melon soda. I used google translate’s camera for the menu and it worked fine. I just called the worked over with some eye contact and a hand raise after I decided. My pasta came with Parmesan cheese and tobacco sauce. It was really tasty and a pretty light meal thanks to the portion so I didn’t get pasta food coma. The fruit crepe cake was surprisingly NOT that good and I ended up getting the blueberry tarte afterwards to make up for it. The menu was not large but every option sounded pretty good so I had a hard time deciding. Japanese spaghetti just hits different so I fairly enjoyed...

珈琲が美味しいです！！

新大久保駅前にある喫茶店。 他にも店舗はあるようです。

以前に行った時は、喫煙・禁煙がエリアで分かれてるだけで、店内はうっすらタバコの煙が漂っていました。

ところが、今回は店内全席禁煙。 タバコは電話ボックスのようなボックスが設置してあり、その中で吸うようです。

こういうお店が増えて欲しいなと感じる優良店に早変わりしてました。

モーニングの時間帯に利用する事が多かったのですが、今回はランチタイム。

千円でランチセット（サラダ・主皿・ドリンク）が楽しめます。

追加で、お得料金でデザートやドリンクのお代わりも頼めます。のんびり、時間を過ごすときには大変嬉しいです！

そして、シュベールで好きなのは、珈琲です。 いろんなチェーン店で飲みましたが、ここの珈琲は、とても自分の好みに合います。

シュベールの日という、感謝の日があり、その日に行くと、名物ナポリタンが安く食べられます。 ※コロナ下で、お店の仕組みが変わってるかもなので、要注意ですが。
