Counter staff male with glasses and black hair is extremely rude and passive agressive towards non female customers and foreigners. Only under the pressure of his supervisor did he start acting properly. But if he's alone on the floor it's another story. Purposefully ignores you to not take your order, you go left of the counter then he goes right at the cashier you go at the cashier then he leaves, then you try to order and he says wait. But wait for what we were the only customers in line, I've spent enough time in Japan to know when it's bs and just passive aggressiveness. Thankfully a female staff came downstairs and saw us and asked us if we want to order because it was obvious as we were the only ones. The guy then switched up because he saw that his superior was there then took our order politely.
As for the macarons they are good but not extraordinary like it's a different type of macaron but I wouldn't go back just for them. I'm from France, we have a lot of macarons, and I rate the macarons from this shop 7.5/10, keep in mind they are very heavy the cream in the middle is rich like butter. Texture is not crispy, it doesn't break but it's more like butter, creamy ice cream. I wouldn't say they have anything special tho, after 1 or 2 you've already had enough of it. They're just very heavy and sweet, basically all the same but different flavors.
I'll never come back because of the service and that male staff tho. It was 10:30pm first floor was full, they closed the second floor so we had to take out. There's not much sitting space on the first floor it's cramped as hell and there was only female customers. Basically if you're a foreigner and you're not a female, you're not welcomed there which I find funny because the cafe is Korean.
Also staff can't even make basic communication in English like even single basic words.which I am not criticizing but it's a thing to note if you don't want to go through the hassle of language barrier which shouldn't be a thing in any cafe worldwide, especially a macaron shop, in koreatown.
Overall I do not think it's a good place to stop...
Read moreBEST MACARONS I HAVE EVER TRIED! I had been planning to visit this cafe for months, and when I finally did, the macarons were everything I wanted and more! I got the vanilla crunch, black sesame, and caramel flavours. All of them were addicting and full of flavour! I particularly LOVED the uniqueness of the black sesame flavour...though I do love anything sesame related haha! These macarons are 10x better than your classic macaron since they are STUFFED with cream! The cafe is also super pretty and great location in Shinjuku. My only complaint is that 6 macarons cost around $20 CAD...so definitely expensive! When I went the workers also didn't speak English, so it is advisable to know some basic Japanese! Read moreYou can find the Korean style 뚱카롱 (ddoong-caron) macarons here. The macarons were pretty and thick in filling, quite reasonable for the price. Almost too sweet but they capture the flavor they promised. The interior design was nice and had a wonderful vibe to chill while having desserts. My only problem with this place was the staff who came off a bit cold. They got my friend's order wrong and ended up charging her more. They made up by giving her a macaron as service. Hopefully such trouble won't happen again. If you want to try Korean style macarons, I'd recommend this place. Staff speaks Japanese, Korean and a bit of English so choose a language to...
