We were a group of 7 and went inside the restaurant around 7:15pm. Appetizers, drinks, and sake were served in a timely manner. Appetizers were good! Sake was also good, BUT had a horrible experience as only 3 out 7 in the group received our soba dishes. We waited until 9:00pm for the remaining 4 soba dishes to be served but still did not receive our food. I understand that it was a night packed with customers, but it seemed like only 80% of the restaurant was filled. To take more than 2 hours to serve all the food is unacceptable. I don’t know what happened in the kitchen. We asked the kitchen staff to cancel our order, but they just kept saying sorry. I pretty much has to force myself out of the there until they fixed my bill. Ruined my Christmas eve with the kids. I don’t know id they were just being racist because some japanese locals came in later than us but received their food earlier than us. If you don’t want to serve non-japanese people, please just turn us away even before sitting down, do not waste our time. Seems like the owner needs to get a consultant on how to make the kitchen more efficient, as it is a waste of potential as the soba was really good. I am a restaurant and bar owner of several high-end establishments accross asia and united states, believe me when i say you need to improve your efficiency in the kitchen. Best wishes on improving...
Read moreI booked a table for three people, and ready to have some fish hotpot. And when we got there, guess what? I got a counter on the second floor. How ridiculous it can be? Because your counter is NOT even big enough to put the pot right? If you don’t have a table for three people then say that or separate the counter seats on the website. Or is this some ridiculous racism cuz you can see my name is not Japanese? There are two Japanese sitting a four seats table and then you told me it’s ok to take the counter seats for three of us? And Your STUFF is very rude. We supposed to have some important things to talk about but we must find a restaurant because of your arrangement. I will NEVER ...
Read moreAmazing food, the soba is fabulous - definitely order extra if you can. Watch out for the “cover charge”. You can decline it by asking to not have the appetiser they offer and say “it’s included in the charge”. Having said that, the salmon sushi they served was still nice, but highlight was the beef soba.
I will say that the staff clearly can’t be bothered with non-Japanese, even during quiet periods, and it is fairly expensive considering prices of other restaurants in the area, although I can’t speak for how they are.
We enjoyed the food but would suggest caution if you’re coming here, the service was quite...
