STEAK & BURGER Cafe NICK STOCK — Restaurant in Tokyo

1/ Volume extremely small. My double burger with fries was roughly the volume of a big Mac and half fries. When asking for ketchup be prepared to get a minuscule quantity. Roughly one tea spoon. Patties are at most 100g if even that.. Volume: 1 star

2/ meat (patties) quality: disappointing. They serve steak so I was expecting proper home ground beef patties, 100 % beef with no added ingredients. Instead the patties felt like meatballs, i.e: mix of ingredients focused on texture over beef taste. I would not mind premium beef patties in that case, but only low quality patty was available. As a steak house, sad that they cannot grind their own beef. Patty quality between mos burger ("barely beef") and BK whopper. : 2 stars.

3/ bread and veggies (tomato, lettuce): surprisingly excellent quality. Bread not overly sweet, and felt freshly prepared. Slice of tomato actually tasted like a real, ripe tomato.: 5 stars

4/ fries: fresh, thin cuts. Good overall quality.

Waiting time after ordering: about 15 min.

Overall: super small portions, and disappointing patties, but excellent buns and veggies.

Staff: really kind but clueless (no clue about patty content or weight). Asked a heavily pregnant lady eating alone to awkwardly sit at the uncomfortable counter style table in the center rather than on the sofas. She was visibly upset but went with it.

Atmosphere: pretty nice. 4 stars

Would I return? For the atmosphere, not for the beef patties. I would also order additional sides of fries and ask for the bottle of ketchup. I would also ask for grinding a steak into patties, despite the additional price. (I like high quality meat in burgers) . The veggies were Frankly high quality...

The waitress took my burger order with the soft drink set but she forgot somehow to order the burger. She came back 15 minutes later and asked what I had ordered. The burger took 45 minutes to get to the table-.- when we got the check there are 2 different receipts that shows she had forgotten and come back. When we asked about they sent a completely unrelated waitress. Whom didn’t even apologize but just confirmed that yeah she made...

As this place specializes in meat, they offer a variety of meat dishes for lunch. While I debated between the monthly special, hamburger and steak, I decided to go with my original plan of cheeseburger. The meat was definitely juicy and delicious, but lacked a bit of character. Service was a bit poor during my second visit. Although I haven't tried it myself, I'd recommend first-timers to try the steak first.
