My family and I travelled to Tokyo recently and stayed at The Lively Hotel (which I can also recommend) and had been told by a friend who travels to Tokyo regularly that Streamer was her fave coffee shop. We loved it - super quaint, charming and rustic with low jazz music in the background, nice and quiet and felt like an old school authentic Tokyo coffee shop from a by-gone era. Not much on offer breakfast wise, but we didn't mind that - a few pastries and their famous carrot cake which the younger ones loved, husband and I would have a long black every morning and eldest daughter a chai latte - we all really enjoyed our morning ritual here before pounding the pavements of Tokyo. This place is another one that couldn't keep up with the reviews. My experience with their coffee left much to be desired; it seemed to have lost its flavor profile. The carrot cake was disappointing, lacking the moistness and richness expected from such a treat.

Furthermore, the cleanliness of the area left much to be desired, particularly the tray and cup disposal counter, which emitted an unpleasant odor and appeared unkempt.

The most commendable aspect of this establishment lies in their English-speaking staff, who exude warmth and friendliness.

I’m disappointed with how espresso shots are charged here. I ordered a double shot of espresso, and the menu said a single “shot” is 21 grams. That’s already the size of a typical double shot at most cafés.

Yet I was charged for two shots, even though I only got one double. It feels misleading to list a single shot as 21 grams and then charge extra for what’s essentially the same serving.

Please clarify your menu and train staff to explain how your espresso sizes work. I’d love to come back, but I don’t want to feel overcharged for something that’s normally standard elsewhere. The music was way too loud to...
