Sultan - Concerns About Pricing

Sultan offers tasty Indian cuisine,However, my recent experience raised some concerns about their pricing practices.

During my visit , I ordered two naan's and one dal for takeaway. According to the menu, this should have cost around 1300 yen (600 for dal, 350 each for naan). However, I was charged 1600 Yen. When questioned, the only front staff explained that takeaway orders are priced higher than dine-in, which was unexpected and not clearly communicated beforehand.

This substantial price increase for takeaway orders feels excessive and lacks transparency. It would be essential for the restaurant to clearly state this policy on their menu or inform customers before ordering to avoid surprises at checkout.

Additionally, when I attempted to split my payment between cash and card, the staff seemed reluctant to accommodate this request, which was disappointing.

While the food quality at Sultan is good, the lack of clear pricing information and the significant overcharging for takeaway orders are concerning. More transparent pricing practices and flexible payment options would greatly improve the customer experience at this...

My husband and I happened to be staying at the Metropolitan Hotel across the street from this delicious Indian and Pakistani restaurant. We ordered the Spinach and Potato curry, Nihari (which is the National dish of Pakistan), samosas, mango juice, rice, regular and garlic naan.

Everything had wonderful flavors and we enjoyed that there was a little spice to the samosas.

Portions were just the right size. There is space for about 20 people in the restaurant, and it is modest but the food doesn’t disappoint.

If you happen to be in the neighborhood and looking for some yummy food,...

Having lived in Japan for three years, I finally discovered a restaurant that brings the true essence of Pakistani cuisine to this land. From the mouth-watering Beef Biryani to the flavorful Mutter Qima and the rich Mutton Nihari, each dish is a masterpiece of authentic Pakistani taste. This spot has become my go-to for its unparalleled flavors and warm ambiance, making it perfect for family gatherings or lively parties. If you're craving genuine Pakistani cuisine in Japan, this restaurant is a must-try. It has quickly become my top choice, offering a taste of home that's hard to...

A nice little place a bit away from the station. With mixed Indian and Nepali in Pakistani staff, and one fellow even looks like a Westerner.. I see the seating layout looks especially good for groups, and it has the atmosphere of a drinking place for beer rather than heavier stuff. The naan wasn't sweet, and the curry stock was very nice. Spice level was not Japanese. Very friendly staff, and the dinner prices probably reflect getting rushes sometimes. Having so many people on staff suggest they have a regular crowd and get busy later on.

The food was delicious, the restaurant is spacious and the service was great! I didn’t get the name of the waiter and chefs but they’re so friendly and nice. The waiter quickly refilled our drinks and asked us if everything was good. However the light was too dimmed 🫢 Will definitely come here again if we are around this area! As said by others, the portion is quite a lot compared to other restaurants. I checked with the waiter, all the food served is halal and there’s a halal mark in front of the restaurant as well.
