Found this place on Google Maps. Really small inside, and kind of stop and go, with only 3 chairs. The rest of the customers had to stand. Honestly that was really neat for me, as I have never seen that before.
Ordering was hard at first but the chef was super duper helpful and walked me through it, even though she spoke no English. She showed me how to use the machine to order and once I got the hang of it, it was a breeze. I ordered cold udon with mixed tempura, using the pictures on the machine.
The udon and temura though...AMAZING!!! Best I've had!! Came with a fresh cut yuzu lime sluce for seasoning, which I have never seen before. Flavor of the broth was light, sweet, salty and tangy.
Also, I was thoroughly surprised that the tempura they give. Most places I've been give you very little tempura protein and lots of tempura veggies (usually because it is cheaper). This place, their tempura...they gave me one slice of pumpkin, one piece of shrimp, one (small quater) piece of saba fish, one egg, one half roll of fish cake and one (small) piece of fried chicken. All of it was super yummy!
I highly recommend...
Read moreThey don't cut corners about cooking udon. And the restaurant has a good atmosphere and is very comfortable. 🍴Order I bought my ticket at the vending machine. I didn't need to give staffs my ticket, then waited at counter seat. If you are seated at a counter table against the wall, you will need to get your food yourself. 💸payment Cash 🪑seat Only counter table and no chair. There are only two chairs. 🍜udon noodle type The noodles are throughly rinsed in cold water after boiling, which gives me a firm and pleasant texture. For cold udon, they chill it further in ice water. 🐟️soup The kake udon soup was light and refreshing. I drank it all. 🙆complimentary Nothing. But staffs asked me “Do you wanna agedamas and gingers?”, before they...
Read moreThis udon place was genuinely life changing. I dined here 4 times during my short 6 day stay in Iidabashi, for breakfast lunch and dinner. It's conveniently close to the station, with a self serve vending machine system and fast service cooked right in front of you. The texture and flavor of their cold udon is so chewy and delicious and the perfect temperature and firmness. I highly recommend their tempuras, especially their fried chicken, which was the most delectable fried chicken I had ever consumed. Even now, 1 month since my visit, I can not stop thinking about this place. When I visit Japan again, this little shop is certainly the first place I will be visiting. My friends and I will remember this place for our...
