  1. i don't speak Japanese, & they do have a brief English menu. ended up having the 8piece omakase dinner set. substantially different lunch vs dinner menus. i would say it is worth it. 2) the menu says open all year round. 3) it gets full house, so either get there...

九段下の寿司屋。 九段下駅から歩いて 5分圏内の場所にあります。 1861年創業の超老舗です。 平日の12時ごろ行き、ほぼ満席。 平日にも関わらず繁盛している様子。 予約してきている方もいるようですね。 メニューは握りとちらしの2種類。 それぞれ梅松竹のコースがあります。 今回は真ん中のランクをいただきました。 ✔︎にぎり 松（4000円） 握りは以下構成でした。 ・イサキ ・たいら貝 ・漬けマグロ ・スズキ ・車海老 ・中トロ ・小鰭 ・穴子 ・しじみの味噌汁 ・玉子 ・赤貝の巻物 総じて美味しかったです。 が、かなり無難に纏まっており目新しさはなく、 やや物足りなさも感じますね。 また、連れが頼んだ3000円の梅と ほとんど同じクオリティだったので、 3000円の方がお得感があります。 たいら貝が帆立、スズキがイサキ、 赤貝の巻物が干瓢巻きに変わったくらい。 なので握りの貫数も同じでした。 赤貝の巻物はなかなか面白いが、 握りで食べたかったかな…。 小鰭、穴子、玉子あたりはすごく美味かった。 この辺りは培った歳月が 違うなと感じさせられた。 握りの値段を税別で表記するのは誤解を招く。 あと、小瓶のウーロン茶700円は高いです。 メニューにないから値段確認しなかったけど。 接客も少し雑な印象。 隣のお客なんて、メニュー渡されない上に 「握りは3000円からあります」の一言のみ。 それ、3000円の握り頼めって 言ってるようなもんだよね？ 伝統的な年季の入ったネタの良さもあるものの、 古い慣わしから離れられない今の時代からの ガラパゴス感も少し感じてしまいました。 女将もいなかったようですし、 運が悪かっただけなのか。 再訪はおそらくなし。 ごちそうさまでした！！
