Sushiro Gotanda Store — Restaurant in Tokyo

Sushiro is well worth the wait. You enter through a door on the first floor outside and then proceed down 1 set of stairs. To get a seat, you walk over to the machine and select where one the restaurant you’d like to sit: you can sit in a booth and use the conveyor, or sit in front of the sushi chefs and watch them prepare it. Once you’ve been called back (you can watch the tv screens for your number on your ticket), you then can select your language on the tablet at the table. The current languages available are Japanese, English, Korean, and if I recall correctly both Mandarin and Cantonese. Once you select your language, you can easily select which item you would like and place your order to arrive on the conveyor belt up top. You can also grab anything on the lower belt. If you have separate tickets, just keep your plates stacked separately. When the bill comes, they will wave a device over the plates to see how much to charge you. Each plate price is color-coordinated and had a chip on the underside for the device to catch the cost. After the waiter/waitress gives you your receipt, you go up front and insert the ticket to pay and either pay in yen, or with a Suica/Pasmo card, OR you can swipe your CC to pay. That’s it! Came here 3 times during our 7 days in Gotanda! Loved how easy, convenient, efficient and fun their genius belt ordering and delivering system is. The food is top notch each time, much better than some of the high end sushi restaurants we had been to in US. The atmosphere is no hassle like the usual high pace lifestyle in Tokyo, but rather self serve at your own pace, calm, relaxing with spacious tables and plenty of privacy to enjoy their unique dishes even during rush hours. Clear English menus with pictures to make ordering a breeze on the iPad, and the built in service button to request assistance in a flash. Price is amazingly “cheap” for their high quality delicious dishes! We are back in the US and missing...

Visited for a late lunch, around 5 pm, on Wednesday. I didn't have to wait in line and got to proceed to the table immediately. Very pleasant experience as always in this chain. Food was served fast and it was delicious, the staff was nice and ready to help.
