The selection of beer is great and you can even make your own can or growler to go which I think is very fun and worth doing once.
That said the price for the beers is not reasonable at all even compared to other beer stores with a similar selection in Tokyo.
Not because the beer itself is not worth it but because pouring a good pint of beer involves some waste since most beers have a tendency to foam over or get a lot of head on the first pour. At a good beer bar the store will eat this cost and you as the customer get a full pint to enjoy for a fixed price. Unfortunately at this store you have to eat the loss and pay for all of the lost foam.
I understand the system is for the beer to be sold by the ounce but that doesn't really work for beer the same way it works for wine or spirits.
I've posted this review in English for the benefit of other foreigners who are considering going, watch out for the price and don't go unless your wallet is also ready. One pint will easily set you back over 2000 yen even though you need to do all of the legwork yourself...

The bartender, or should I say cashier, insisted on speaking katakana to me even though I was speaking Japanese to him. It took a while to get him to talk to me like a normal person. Not sure what kind of customer service that is.
The beer descriptions are a bit lacking. You can touch the info button on the screen. Some are in Japanese, some English, and some don't have any. Also, the card reader is a bit finicky, so slide your card right or left until a pop up appears on the right side of the screen with a yen amount.
Still, the selection was good, and I had a decent conversation with the guy once I convinced him that my Japanese...
Read moreWonderful spot and by far my favourite in and around Ebisu for craft beer. 15 beers on tap, typically featuring great selections from craft breweries from around Japan, the US, UK, and beyond. There are further options in a rotating selection of cans, and you can get a growler (1.9L) to take home. They give you a card so that you can serve yourself, which gives you the chance to try lots of beers in small portions before committing. The staff are great, very welcoming, and speak both English and Japanese - and...
