I love this ramen. It is dry-ramen which means there is no pork broth or miso soup inside however, they do add some kind of taste I'm not sure what it is but its really great. The noodles a cooked to perfection, not too hard, not too soft but depending on how you like it I'm sure the staff can do it for you. Your ramen will include noodles, egg, a good portion of delicious char-su pork and other things such a green onion and bamboo shoots. Depending on the time of day, they off customers a bowl on miso soup on the house. They also served bottled beer for 500 yen, a big bottle too and well-priced. On the counter, they have vinegar, soy sauce, sesame seeds and their homemade garlic-chill mayo sauce. This sauce is my favorite and I drown my ramen in it. It's not spicy for me but if you are sensitive to spice then maybe it's not for you. For a fantastic ramen experience I highly-recommend it.
Also a shout out to the staff. There is usually only 1 chef operating the place at any one time. And even though I cannot speak much Japanese the staff always makes an effort talk to me. He is very kind and a...
It's a restaurant dedicated to Abura-Soba with very little soup. Although there is a lot of traffic on Shinjuku-dori in front of the restaurant on weekdays and holidays, the area around the restaurant is a residential area, so it's relatively quiet. The restaurant is small and has only counter seats, but during lunch time, terrace seats are set up in the plaza in front of the restaurant entrance, and some customers eat there. The noodles are thick and springy, with an excellent crunch. The noodles are thick and springy, and are eaten after stirring the toppings and a little soup. The strong elasticity of the noodles makes it easy for ingredients and soup juice to splash out, so be careful if you are wearing white or other light clothing. This restaurant does not play background music or TV/radio programs, and many people, especially at the counter, are all eating their food in silence, which may make some people feel quite uncomfortable. In some aspects, you can concentrate on the taste of the food, but I think there are...
Read moreI visited on a Monday evening and the restaurant was quite empty, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. I really liked that they offered several seasonings so you can adjust the flavor to your personal taste. Overall, I loved the abura soba here — probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely...
