I don’t usually leave bad review but This was my worst experience in Japan. Far as I know Japanese are very polite, Kind and ever so gentle but Soon as I walked in the restaurant, the waitress yelled on top of her voice “WAIT OUTSIDE!!5 minutes!! Then she said how many people so we said 4. But by the time we were going in, my son didn’t feel well so he went back to hotel. So when we were ALLOWED to entered the restaurant, we said sorry only 3 people. Then she went rumbling in Japanese and said about 4 and 3 in English. I felt so intimidated and not welcomed. I would have walked out if I wasn’t with my family. Such an unpleasant experience, first night in Tokyo. All the ingredients were very fresh but the flounder we’ve ordered wasn’t cooked. The Grilled Flounder was still transparent. So upset forgot to get the photo. Didn’t bothered to tell them. After back to hotel reading other people’s reviews I’ve also checked my bill to find out that there is 330yen charged per person which we weren’t told about. Yes it does come with little lettuce salad n little seaweed salad. NOT recommend or go again. Paying almost AUS$ 150, Will go somewhere else who can appreciate the business. Hope the rest of Tokyo is more welcoming...
Read moreOverall, the restaurant had decent food and a pleasant atmosphere, though the pricing seemed a bit high for what was offered. However, our main issue was with the service. Initially, upon entering, there was no acknowledgment or welcome despite the staff seeing us waiting outside in the cold. Even after seating ourselves in the almost empty restaurant around 2 pm, there were miscommunications in taking our order, resulting in the wrong sake being served without an apology. Additionally, the sushi had an overwhelming amount of wasabi, making it difficult to enjoy. It seemed like there was a lack of attention to customers' preferences, as they could have noticed our struggle with the wasabi. Moreover, there was a discrepancy in the server's approach based on customers' nationalities, with a noticeable change in accent and demeanor. Communication in English was also challenging, with the server stating a limitation in speaking English when approached. These aspects significantly impacted our...
Read moreAs someone with an unusual fish allergy (allergic to most fish, but I can eat tuna), this was the perfect spot for us since they specialize in tuna. Additionally, no reservations were required, and our party of two was seated immediately around 7:30pm on a Wednesday night on a busy first week of January.
We ordered the bluefin tuna half-plate, tuna rice bowl with special seasoning, and Korean sauce tuna, along with 2 carafs of hot house sake. The bluefin half-plate was my favorite. The Korean one included an egg yolk, which was a first for us. And the special seasoning was cumin, which I thought was strange for tuna. They shorted us on the sake: the first one filled 4.5 shots, while the second one only filled 3.5 shots.
Prices were excellent. The chefs were both wearing ties and were very professional. The server spoke enough English. The overall ambience was not impressive to return. I'd consider takeout if I already at...
