It’s tucked away in a narrow street in Ginza, almost hard to be found. But once you step in, you’re separated from the bustling and glory of Ginza.
Small and humble sento with only 2 bath - one normal and one with jet, both boiling hot at 45 degrees or more. I could only dip half of my body in, with occasionally full body dip, and got out as red as a cooked lobster. I guess that’s their strategy because the space is so small that if I have gone any earlier than 9:15PM, it might have been too crowded to get a space in the tub.
I prefer variety of baths so to me, this is not the best place to be. But I have to give points to the location, the cleanliness, and how new they look after the renovation. Another point to the cute hanging decorations - as if each of them has their own unique face and features.
Hair dryer is strong, same market price of 20yen for 3 minutes. And they seem to not care about my small tattoos, so...
Read moreI had my first-time experience at this sento, and it was truly wonderful. The front desk ladies were incredibly kind, even though they didn't speak English, they went out of their way to help me and guide me through the entire sento experience. I brought my own towel, but I noticed they offer towel rentals for those who need them, which is convenient. They also provide soap and shampoo, making it easy for visitors.
Upon entering, you're required to remove your shoes and take a wooden number token, then proceed to your gender-designated area. The sento strictly enforces gender separation, ensuring privacy and comfort. I appreciate that they are tattoo and foreigner friendly, which made me feel welcome.
The water temperature was around 43 degrees C / 109 degrees F.
Additionally, the women's side of the sento has a Mount Fuji mural, a masterpiece by one of Japan's last muralists, Morio Nakajima. This beautiful artwork adds a unique atmosphere to the bathing area
My overall experience was fantastic. I particularly liked the vending machines, which were a nice touch for a post-bath refreshment. I highly recommend this sento for anyone looking to enjoy a traditional Japanese bathing experience with an accommodating atmosphere.
Read moreThoroughly enjoyed my time at this sento! It was a cultural experience I wanted to have before leaving Tokyo. It cost 460 yen, and I brought my own towel. The little lockers for your clothes cost 100 yen but you get it back when you leave. The place did provide shampoo and body wash. I had read a lot about what to do at a sento, but if I looked confused, the ladies were quick to help me. After leaving, my skin felt so soft! Also, I didn’t feel awkward at all. It was a...
