Torimitsu — Restaurant in Tokyo

Restaurant WhatsApp on the day of the reservations (29 March 2024) to cancel because the staff fell ill. Fair enough, these things happen, but under their own rules, I would have to pay for the whole meal if I did the cancellation with less than 4 hours before the appointment.

I messaged back to ask for another date as compensation, as I did book 2 weeks in advance, I was given Wednesday, 3rd April, a day they are officially closed (Be warned: not according to Google Maps)

Best part: I received a reminder to turn up. I took a cab on 3rd April, in the pouring rain and the owner said they don’t open on Wednesdays. When I showed him the WhatsApp reminder, he confirmed that it was sent by his staff.

What games are they playing? Lots of verbal apologies but no explanation given, no compensation for the cab ride.

I saw some reviews about reservation issues at this Kagurazaka restaurant, so I was a bit concerned. However, the experience turned out to be excellent. The tori soba follows the style of the famous ramen shop 'Breaking Beats,' and the yakitori is served in the traditional way of the Michelin-starred 'Torishiki.' The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was warm and attentive. I also had the chance to speak with the okami, who shared the spirit of Japanese omotenashi. Torimitsu atmosphere is so warmth and welcoming, reminds us of midnight diner. Absolutely amazing yakitori, the master will serve omakase style and we recommend trying everything, the quality and respect he has in preparation food is truly admirable!! Obachan and Ojichan is so nice too!!...
