Located in the basement in a quieter alley in Shimokitazawa. Popular nonetheless with endless stream of customers coming for dinner. Very lively atmosphere. I didn’t have a reservation and was fortunate to get a seat. I’m not sure if the staff speak English (they spoke to me in Japanese) or if they have an English menu but there are pictures in the menu so ordering shouldn’t be a problem even if you do not speak Japanese. It’s my second time here and if you bring your receipt from a previous visit, the cover charge is waived. It is a shame, the atmosphere seemed nice but we couldn't stay. As a group of foreigners they were very passive aggressive toward us to the point that after 30 minutes of being seated down and not given even water we decided to stand up and leave. The waitress passed us several times to take care of the table next to us but ignored us, and we were a bigger table to begin with. This seems to be a common occurrence, when you leave central Tokyo they will treat you very condescending. The service was really good and we got free food and were really halpy with thr experience, until we got asked 3 times in 15 mins to leave. We had ordered plenty of food to begin with, but because we didn't order a little at a time and instead spent the time eating what we had ordred, we got asked to leave.
