Trattoria Italia — Restaurant in Tokyo

This is a quick and simple Italian place with low-ish cost lunch sets. The food is ordinary and the service borderline unfriendly to foreigners despite that I speak fluent Japanese for the purpose of ordering at a restaurant. They got our simple order wrong twice and let us hang for 10+ minutes before we realized they had forgotten the rest of our order and asked for it. Really poor experience.

I was denied entry despite the restaurant being basically empty and was offered takeout. Not what I wanted at all, but fine. I ordered a Margarita pizza. As with a lot of non-Japanese food in Japan, the quality of the ingredients was clearly superb and fresh, but the taste of the food was quite bland, especially for the price of around 1500 yen. Truthfully I make a far better pizza with a nonstick pan and a broiler. Quite sad for a place that supposedly specializes in Italian food. Maybe take some advice from the Italian customer...

Great lunch set: Margarita pizza, ¥900 (tax included), add soup salad and soft drink or coffee for ¥100. Pizza was very good, sauce could have used a bit of zip, and they put a little too much on it, but the ingredients were quality and it was a great value.
