This bowl is everything we could have dreamed of and more and fully worth $26. @tsujihan_akasaka at @arkhills_official is the location to go to because it’s not as crazy as the others but recommend going after 2pm to avoid long lines. They have 8 locations in Tokyo! 🌟the bowl: full of SO much seafood like uni, ikura, salmon, clams, snow crab and cucumber which you top with rich soy sauce and the rice come steaming hot 🌟sea bream dashi and yuzu zest gets added when you have 1/3 of the bowl left and you top it with the sea bream sashimi Too good and a must save spot for your Japan travels!! • • • #sistersnacking #sistersnackingjapan #japan #tokyo #tokyojapan #tokyojapanfood #japanfood #japanfoodie #topfood #donburi #seafooddonburi #tsujihan #tokyofood #tokyofoodie #travel

I came here based on TikTok recommendations. I went in a weekday around 1pm and it wasn’t busy. I heard other locations have long lines, but this location I only had to wait for maybe 10 minutes only. You have to go up the escalators once you arrived inside arc hills. This shop is pretty small and there’s limited seating. From all seats you can see the chefs preparing the food. There’s no washrooms here, so you would have to use the ones outside (the washrooms are pretty clean and nice). I opted for the Matsu Course (2,200 yen). It contains : Salmon Roe, Tuna, Nakaochi (rich flesh scraped from the bones), Shrimp, Whelk, Geoduck Clam, Squid, Herring Eggs, Cucumber, Green onion + Extra Crab + Extra Sea Urchin + Extra Salmon Roe This is pretty much the same as the most basic course but it just have uni and more salmon roe. For this order, you have to eat a little of the rice and when your like 1/4 from finishing you can get soup broth added to your bowl. I recommend saving the sashimi slices from the beginning to mix with the broth. The sashimi on its own it’s not that special. I prefer putting it in the broth as it cools the fish and it’s more tender that way. The broth is pretty good too! I like how there’s mint leaves inside. I usually don’t drink broth or soup for my noodles, but I made an exception for this. Overall the food was pretty good and I didn’t feel too full. I do think it’s highly overrated, and I’d only come here if there’s no lines

The kaisen don here is piled high with minced toro, tuna, uni, and ikura (depending on what you order). They also serve 2 slices of sashimi on the side for you to eat with the leftover rice and broth midway through your meal. With that said, the uni was briny and lacked sweetness (it wasn't very fresh). The ikura just tasted like any other factory procured ikura-salty. The mix of tuna (bland) and minced toro was confusing as it was mushy (from the toro) yet had a bite (from the stringy pieces of tuna) simultaeneously. It didn't go well together. The furikake seasoning musked the taste of the seafood as well. The hot ochazuke that was served midway was a nice cleanser to the seafood mix. Overall, all the components didn't compliment each other well and the don just felt like a pile of expensive ingredients topped on rice. All in all, I get the appeal of having a mountain of seafood piled high on your rice, but unfortunately the quality was subpar. But I have to say I wasn't all that surprised given the rave reviews I saw from many, especially foreigners and social media personalities (whose palates are unreliable), which led me to suspect that it might be overhyped in the first place.
