TLDR: Excellent sushi in an eat and go environment. Come for the $20 omakase.

Vibe: 4/5. Located off the main drag in Shibuya, this sushi bar is a standing only restaurant that can serve around 8 diners at a time. The bar is cramped, so be prepared to wait and be up close to other diners during peak hours. The sushi chefs are located directly in front of you, so you can watch as they prepare each piece. Each counter "seat" is its own self-serve entity, providing diners with wasabi, soy sauce, utensils and a matcha jar w/ water tap right at their fingertips which is very convenient.

Service: 5/5. The staff was very hospitable during our dinner service. We came at around 6:45pm on a Thursday and waited around 10 minutes before 2 spots opened up. We were ushered to our bar spots and given our menu immediately. The sushi chef spoke a little English, so he was able to walk us through the menu and the ordering process. You place your order directly with the chef and drinks with the waitress. The chef identified each piece as they came out and told us the order they should be eaten in. Overall, loved the staffs professionalism and passion for a quality service.

Food: 5/5. Fantastic sushi experience. We opted for the omakase which covered a broad range of fish. Each piece was served perfectly at body temperature and with quality fish. The rice was properly seasoned with vinegar and just enough wasabi under the fish to taste it, but not overpower the fish. Best pieces included the mackerel and uni, both exhibiting remarkable flavor. With the omakase coming in at around 2800 yen, or just under $20, you simply can't...

When dinner options run thin in Shibuya, and the thought of queuing up for ages dampens your appetite, Standing Sushi Bar is the hidden gem you've been waiting for. This place has become my go-to spot every time I'm in Shibuya, offering a quick and satisfying fix for my sushi cravings.

The freshness and taste of their sushi and sashimi are consistently impressive. It's evident that they prioritize quality, making each bite a delightful experience. What's even better is the no-nonsense approach – no need to wait in long queues to satisfy your hunger.

The convenience and speed of service make it a perfect solution for those times when you need a delicious meal without the fuss. Plus, the prices are surprisingly wallet-friendly, especially considering the top-notch quality of the sushi.

Standing Sushi Bar has earned its place as my reliable go-to spot in Shibuya. It's a testament to the fact that good food doesn't have to come with a hefty price tag or a long wait. If you're looking for a quick, tasty, and affordable sushi fix in the heart of Shibuya, this is the place to be. Highly...

If you're looking for an exceptional sushi experience in Tokyo, look no further than this amazing sushi restaurant. I recently had the pleasure of dining there, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was impeccable, and the sushi was simply out of this world.

One of the standout dishes for me was the otoro nigiri. The fish was incredibly fresh and tender, and the flavor was simply amazing. Each bite was a delight to the senses, and it's no wonder that this dish is a favorite of so many sushi lovers.

But the otoro nigiri was just one of many incredible dishes on the menu. From the delicate sashimi to the perfectly seasoned rice, every bite was a testament to the skill and expertise of the chefs. And the presentation of each dish was simply beautiful, adding to the overall experience.

Overall, I can't say enough good things about this sushi restaurant. If you're looking for a truly exceptional dining experience in Tokyo, make sure to give it a try. You won't be...

We found it hard to select restaurants in Japan but found this ABSOLUTE GEM for Sushi. While there were a couple of tables, almost all the seating was at the bar area. You do NOT want to pass up on this experience to enjoy watching the chefs prepare and personally deliver each individual piece of your order. What's more, even having enjoyed the depth and breadth of NYC sushi restaurants, for us, there were amazing, unique to Japan options at Uogashi. These unique options are "must sample". One orders thru small mounted tablets dedicated to each diner. The tablet application is highly organized, efficient, and intuitive to use. One downside , relative to many other Japan dining experiences, for this experience prepare to spend extra $. But if you love sushi and love trying some new things, dive in here. Highly recommended.
