USAGI — Restaurant in Tokyo

The restaurant staff member was very impolite and I think harassed us on purpose. We waited inside for about ten minutes and then when four or five people entered after us, we moved a bit inside the restaurant to make room for them. The staff member in a red t-shirt told us impolitely to move back and wait, maybe thinking we didn't speak Japanese. All of us spoke Japanese and in two of us were native Japanese. We told the guy in red, we moved to make room for the other customers, but he didn't even apologize. Then my friend left his mobile phone in the adjacent seat for a while until he took of the jacket, and this staff member told him to take the phone. He did and then after a while placed it back on the seat to make some room for the dishes, then again the staff member yelled at him. Then the guy in red said I was sitting too close to the customer on my left. The place was so narrow and he himself had placed the chairs. I moved the chair back a bit without saying anything out of respect for my Japanese friends. If I were on my own, I'd definitely have left that harassing red guy's restaurant at the beginning. I've been in Japan for studies and business for almost eleven years now, and this was probably one of three worst places I ate out. Food was mediocre and the volume was little. No...

What they made me irritated the most, they completely forgot to give me my luggage back which I was asked to place away from the counter seat which was given, cause the aisle beside it was just freaking narrow. Well, I understand it's a part of my fault too, however, they fIled to remind it and should have apologised a bit cause I had to go all the way back next day, they didn't even say anything when the luggage picked up, the disappointing hospitality doesn't meet Japanese quality, the food overall...

We totally chances upon this place while googling teppanyaki while we were in harajuku area. This popped up as one of the most famous and well reviews place. We too less than 10 minutes to this hole in a wall.

When we went in, it felt really cozy and homey with all the tables filled with locals. The chef prepared and cooked everything in front of us with great precision!

The food was fantastic and if we could stomach more, we would have totally done so.
