After a long day of travel, there was light at the end of the tunnel...30 DRAFT BEERS!!!!!!!!! We were able to get a table immediately, "shocking" I thought. We were quickly escorted to two lopsided tables next to the poorly maintained bathrooms.
Immediately I grabbed the beer menu, hoping for a vast list of delicious world beers, not the case. The menu clearly states 30 draft beers...there were 7 on the menu...6 available. Several bottles available, but not drafts. I ordered an IPA hoping to feel a little like I was back in the states with beers like Ballast Point or Dog Fishhead. Turns out, the beer tasted more like Budlight with a lemon that had been torched inside a baby's diaper...one of the absolute worst beers I have ever had.
The food...just get the dumplings or fries, food that does not require any kitchen intellect to make. Ordered the Chinese chili dumplings, fries with cheese, chicken thigh, shrimp skewer, chicken skewer, and grilled beef. The skewers were on par with a wet sock. The chicken thigh was juicy, but had the flavor of a saltine cracker. The grilled beef was a microwaved brick...First round was overdone and definitely microwaved. Sent that one back....second round 69% of the pieces were cooked as if the chef was unable to taste or see....look at the pics...cannot explain it better than the pictures.
Needless to say, this was the most disappointing...
Read moreThis lively restaurant carries a good decent selection of Belgian beer. They also have a small selection of Japanese craft beer. Reservations recommended.
The venue is smaller than it appeared from outside and when I visited on a Friday night there was no indoor seating available. There were a few groups sitting outside so I joined them. Despite the cool December weather I was not offered a blanket but one was provided on request.
Although the menu cover read "30 beers on tap" I was told that one IPA was sold out and then other had just been hooked up so it wasn't chilled yet. That left a single saison in the craft beer section. I opted for Belgian beer instead, which was delicious, but I was really disappointed by their lack of selection.
I didn't try any food but the otoshi was fine. A crustini with whole pink peppercorns. I don't plan to go back as there are plenty of other craft beer places in the area with better selection. The indoor tables were all full though so they seem to know their...
Read moreGreat beer selection, very nice staff, good food and reasonable prices. We will always remember this place fondly. I ordered a beer and the keg blew, the bartender was so apologetic, I know it happens, often to me lol. There was a fun looking Japanese traveling trivia show on tv that was just obvious enough that we could somewhat follow even with no sound. It was the weirdest, but most perfect way to end our trip to Tokyo. It's not really worth seeking out since it's a bit out of the way, but if you're by Ochanomizu, then it's...
