If you’re in Tokyo and have time for only a couple of pizza spots, this should absolutely be one of them.

I came across The Pizza Tokyo thanks to a recommendation from Jschlatt, and let me just say, he was spot-on. I ordered both a sausage and pepper slice and a pepperoni slice, and they were nothing short of magnificent. The sausage and pepper slice offered a beautiful balance of flavors, with the mild spice of the sausage complemented by a perfectly tangy pepper kick. Meanwhile, the pepperoni slice was a masterclass in simplicity, with each bite showcasing top-tier cheese, a well-balanced tomato sauce, and just the right amount of pepperoni.

Slices were decent for NY style pizza in Japan. Price range was a bit high and although the pizza on display looked like it had been out for a while, they warm it up in the oven again to give it a second life.

Wasn't happy about getting passively kicked out of the restaurant. Hours on google maps say the store closes at 8:30pm which if you see from other reviews, their store leaves the closing hours inconspicuously blank. Guess it's their way of saying "we'll close when we want to close". I thought they would close at least when all the pizza was soldout but there were still slices on display when around 8:00pm, the guy decides to turn off all the lights in the shop and obnoxiously begins moving furniture, slams open all the doors and begins stacking full trash bags next to me while I'm still eating.

To the shop: if y'all are trying to copy "American-style" and that's your excuse for this kind of treatment or closing shop early since you folks are entitled to do as you please, at least from someone who's worked in the American restaurant industry, most places that serve pizza for the stifling prices you pitch them at have the decency to provide a courtesy call -- a head's up from behind the counter saying "hey folks, we're closing shop soon" or something -- and then they decide to close up shop so the customer's aren't caught off guard by getting kicked to the curb.

If you come to Tokyo, you will find a lot of good restaurants. Even the really cheap places are a good bang for your buck. You rarely get disappointed. Unfortunately, this place falls under the latter category. It was really hyped on the internet and walking into the shop, I really felt like being back in nyc, they nailed the atmosphere. That’s about it tho. I walked up to the counter to see some old looking pies. I got two slices and the sauce to cheese ratio is an absolute joke. The first one had basically no cheese and the second one had only cheese. The worst part however was the crust. It was so absurd to me, I had to start laughing while eating. It was like they were purposely trying to piss people off. It was the worst kind of crispy I’ve ever experienced on a pizza. It was like a burned cookie that pulverizes after you take a bite.
