Restaurant Hokusai was one of our favorite dining experiences inside Tokyo Disneyland — a calm, sit-down meal right in the middle of the park, which felt like such a gift when traveling with toddlers. It’s located just across from the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, making it a convenient lunch stop if you're planning a princess makeover or catching a parade nearby. The atmosphere inside is peaceful and well-organized, with traditional Japanese set meals served in a comfortable indoor setting. We came as a family of five (two adults, two young kids, and a nanny) and found the portions generous enough to share. The Tempura Set (¥2,400) was seafood-based and worked great for our toddlers, while the Special Set (¥3,500) came with a beautifully presented variety — tempura, eel, sea bream with ikura, beef, and more — though not halal-friendly. The kids’ set had pork, so we skipped it, and the seasonal donburi specials during our visit were pork-based too. The staff were kind and efficient, and there’s stroller access and high chairs available, which made everything smoother. We really appreciated the English menu and table service format, with payment done at the register after eating. We booked Priority Seating via the Tokyo Disney Resort app and were seated right on time — I’d definitely recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends or busy days. Overall, this was one of the best-value table-service meals in Disneyland: relaxing, satisfying, and full of comforting Japanese flavors that felt like a reset in the middle of a...
Read moreThis is a Japanese interior inspired restaurant with beautiful wooden furnitures, artwork and patterns. I made reservation for lunch the day before. I got one of the last available spots as they get filled few days beforehand.
The restaurant has couple of set items in the menu. I got the steak combo set that came with large pieces of sliced beef, eel on omelette, veggie tempura, miso soup and of course fruit bowl. Most of the were decent. I liked the eel and tempura. The menu had some souvenir items with some of the special dishes.
The service was friendly here. Our server tried her best to help us but there was little communication problem as wasn’t skilled in English. The checkout was at the counter next to entrance/exit. All in all, it was a good dining...
Read moreWe visited Hokusai Restaurant at Disneyland Tokyo without a reservation. Upon arrival, two ladies at the front informed us that the wait time would be around 30–45 minutes. True to their estimate, we were seated after about 45 minutes.
While most of the staff were friendly, I felt that the service could have been a bit more welcoming — perhaps due to the language barrier, as English communication was quite limited. That said, once seated, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We didn’t have high expectations, but the dishes turned out to be very good!
One thing to note is that the service time was a little slow, so be prepared to wait a bit after ordering. Overall, it was a nice experience, and...
